COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number : GE 8
2. Course Name : Readings in Philippine History
3. Course Description : This course introduces Philippine History from multiple perspectives through the
lens of selected primary sources coming from various disciplines and of different
genres. The discussions will tackle traditional topics in history and other disciplinary
themes that will deepen and broaden the understanding of the political, economic,
socio -cultural, scientific, and religious history of the Philippines. The end goal is to
enable the students to understand and appreciate our rich past by deriving insights
from those who were actually present at the time of event.

6. Credit : 3.0 units Lecture, 0 units Laboratory

The goal of this role-playing activity is for students to develop a deeper understanding of
historical events and the perspectives of key historical figures. By participating in a mock
debate, students will enhance their critical thinking, research, and communication skills
while empathizing with historical characters' viewpoints.
You will take on the roles of different historical figures relevant to a specific event or
period in Chapter 4. You will research their assigned character's background, beliefs, and
motivations to portray them accurately during role playing.
Your audience for the role playing will be your classmates and the history teacher. You will
aim to engage the audience by presenting well-researched arguments and insights from
their historical characters' perspectives
