Vocational high school (SMK) is a formal education at the
secondary education level that organizes vocational programs.
(Ministry of Education and Culture, 2018).
The government is preparing senior secondary level vocational
education to create a generation that has expertise and competence.
Through vocational high schools students are directed to become
productive, disciplined and responsible workforce towards themselves,
the nation and society. So there is a need for continuousimprovement
in improving the quality of vocational education in Indonesia in order
to get graduates who are able to compete in an increasingly developing
world. In order to improve the quality of education, the problem that
must be considered is the way students learn and the learning process.
The basic work of automotive engineering is filled with
learning materials that equip students with knowledge and skills. The
material in it is about basic knowledge before doing practice in the
expertise program automotive light vehicle engineering. The basic
work material for automotive engineering includes several matters
x
related to work in the automotive field such as: automotive repair
equipment, mechanical, electrical, electronic measuring instruments,
hydraulic measuring instruments, pneumatic measuring
instruments, bearings, lifting workpieces, jacking , blocking .
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is a learning that presents
various authentic and meaningful problem situations to students
that serve as a basis for student investigations and investigations. The
problem-based learning model can be called Problem Based Learning ,
abbreviated as PBL. This research includes using a type of
experimental research in the form of a Pre-Experimental Design.
The experimental form uses one group pretest - posttest which will
be used in this study. Research procedures are the steps used to
collect data to answer the research questions posed in this study.
aims to determine the effect of the number of measurement tools on
student achievement at SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo, data analysis was
performed using Winstep Rasch Software version 3.73. the results of
several parameter items will be obtained according to the Rasch
model.
The results showed that there was an effect of applying the
problem-based learning model to the material of the caliper
measuring instrument on student achievement, it was found that the
significance value was 0.037. This means that it has a positive effect
because the sig value <0.05. For students' learning achievement
after using the group learning model with five members, it has
increased, experiencing an increase of 20% after learning with the
group model.
