Aims for Ss: by the end of the lesson, Ss will have been presented with and had
practice in:
- Different currencies (£, p, €, $, c)
- How to say prices appropriately
- How to ask about the price of singular/plural nouns
Aims for teacher:
- Assumptions: Ss will be familiar with the different currencies, prices and how to
ask about them
Anticipated problems:
- Meaning: Ss might not understand the difference between money and price
- Pronunciation:
 Ss might mispronounce euros /ʹjʊәrǝʊz/
 Ss might say the prices incorrectly, ex: £10.50 = ten point fifty pounds
Solutions:
- Pre-teaching blocking words using realia
- Drilling the words and currencies
- Highlighting the word order when saying prices: £2nd101st.503rd and that we don’t
say ‘point’ when saying prices
