Math Club Minutes of the Meeting

General Plan of Action for School Year 2023-2024

Pines City National High School

Location: ABM 12 Classroom

Agenda:

Math Olympiad (for Mathematics Festival)

Objectives:

a. To prepare members for the Mathematics Festival and Mathematical Investigation competitions.

b. To foster a competitive spirit and enhance problem-solving abilities.

Strategies:

a. Identify upcoming math competitions and set training schedules.

b. Conduct regular practice tests and quizzes.

c. Organize mock competitions within the club.

d. Provide coaching and guidance on competition strategies on mathematics quiz bee and
mathematical investigation.

Time Frame: September 27 - October 31, 2023

People Involved: Club Officers, Teachers, Volunteer Coaches, Club Members

Resources: Competition materials, Practice tests, Meeting Rooms


Expected Outcomes: Improved performance in math competitions, Increased confidence among
participants, potential awards and recognition.

Mathulungin Workshop

Objectives:

a. To increase students’ performance level in Mathematics.

b. To enhance members’ mathematical skills.

Strategies:

a. Tutorial of weekly mathematical lessons from basic to more complex and one-on-one tutorial of
peer teaching with assigned people to lead sessions on specific topics.

b. Practice quizzes and problem-solving sessions for the week’s math lesson.

Time Frame: Year-round (Once a week)

People Involved: Club Officers, Club Members, Math Teachers

Resources: Medium for learning, Books, Online Resources, Lesson Plan for the week, Meeting Rooms

Expected Outcomes: Increase of mathematical enthusiasts among the students, Increased confidence
in tackling math problems, and a sense of camaraderie within the club.

Monthly Math Challenge

Objectives: To enhance the mathematical thinking skills of PCNHS SENIOR students.

Strategies: Practice quizzes and problem-solving sessions for the month’s math lesson.

Time Frame: Every last Friday of the month

People Involved: PCNHS students

Resources: Lessons for the month, Meeting Rooms, Materials, Summative test questions

Expected Outcomes: Increase of mathematical enthusiasts among the students.
