Introduction This activity intends to enhances the ability of the school students to reduce stress and handle stressful situations in their daily lives—for use in classroom or small group settings. This activity provides instructions, worksheets and motivational activities. Students will be exposed about differences between stress, depression and anxiety, how to deal with stress and understand the importance of expressing own feeling. Objectives 1. Students able to differentiate differences of stress, depression and anxiety. 2. Students will understand how their own negative thoughts can affect their stress level. 3. Students able to minimize and manage their negative emotions with few coping skills. 4. Students understand the importance of expressing emotions.
Methods Lecture and discussion.
Content 1. Teacher leads the discussion by writing on the board the
word Stress, Depression and Anxiety. 2. Students are given Stress Checklist Worksheet by the teacher and need to complete it in 10 minutes. 3. Teacher collected the paper and distribute a blank white paper to each student. 4. Teacher instructs the students to write down feelings that they bring to school today. 5. Each student explains about the feelings that they wrote. 6. Next, students are given another blank paper to write down their insecurities. 7. After writing it down, teacher instruct the students to crumple the paper and throw it away as if they are throwing out the negativity from their body and mind. 8. Then, teacher ask all students to stand up, shake off their body and teach 4-7-8 breathing technique. 9. Lastly, teacher ask how does the students feel now and feedbacks of their understanding of today’s lesson. Also further explain if any questions arise.
