Final Script Assembly Play
Final Script Assembly Play
[The stage is set like a cozy living room with rangoli and candles. The family portrait and a table of
fireworks stand out.]
Narrator: (Offstage) In a small Indian town, the Sharma family was gearing up for Diwali. Excitement
filled the air, but there was a tricky decision to make.
Ayesha: (Curious) They are cool, Ashwin, but remember what Mom and Dad said about air pollution?
We don't want to spend Diwali coughing, do we?
Ashwin: (Playful) Ayesha, it's Diwali! We can't miss out on the fun!
Ayesha: (Serious) Fun's great, Ashwin, but not if it means choking on smoky air.
Mr. Sharma: (Smiling) What's all this chatter about, you two?
Ashwin: (Defensive) We were just discussing the pros and cons of fireworks, Dad.
Ayesha: (Eager) We're thinking we could have a firework-free Diwali this year, Dad, for cleaner air.
Mrs. Sharma: (Supportive) I'm with the kids on this one. Celebrating Diwali without fireworks sounds
like a great way to keep our family healthy and our traditions alive.
Mr. Sharma: (Thoughtful) That's a good idea, kids. Diwali is about tradition and togetherness, not
smoke and noise.
Dadi: (Wise) And you know what, I can be part of the celebrations without all that smoke. I'm not a
fan of coughing fits, you see!
[Dadi feeds everyone sweets]
[The stage transforms into a lively community gathering with colourful lights. The Sharma family joins
their cheerful neighbours.]
Neighbour 1: (Excited) Diwali's around the corner! Who's ready to light up the sky with fireworks?
Neighbour 2: (Enthusiastic) I've bought so many fireworks; they'll light up the entire universe!
Narrator: The Sharma family decided to share their concerns at the community gathering.
Mrs. Sharma: (Supportive) How about a community celebration with diyas, sweets, and good
company instead of fireworks?
Neighbour 1: (Dramatic) What? Give up the sound of Diwali? That's like saying we should celebrate
Holi without colours!
Neighbour 2: (Exaggerated) Fireworks are like our battle cries, announcing our victory over silence!
It's a tradition that's etched in the stars!
Dadi: (Inspiring) Let's set an example for our kids and our kids' kids. We don't need a noisy boom-
boom to enjoy Diwali.
Neighbour 1: (Thoughtful) You know, maybe we could find a way to celebrate without all the noise
and pollution.
Neighbour 2: (Reflective) And we could still have a great time without fireworks. There must be other
fun options, right?
Narrator: The neighbours, after some reflection, begin to contemplate celebrating an eco-friendly
Diwali with a mix of curiosity and nods.
[The stage transforms into a beautifully decorated community space with everyone gathered,
enjoying a firecracker-free Diwali.]
Narrator: The Sharma family's idea caught on, and the entire community came together for a grand
Diwali celebration.
Neighbor 1: (Joyful) I have to admit, this is much better than my over-the-top fireworks.
Ashwin: (Grinning) See, Ayesha, I told you I could make Diwali cool and eco-friendly.
Ayesha: (Teasing) Oh, Ashwin, the eco-warrior of Diwali? Who would've thought!
Mr. Sharma: (Elated) It's wonderful to see our community come together like this.
Mrs. Sharma: (Pleased) Our celebration is more meaningful, and our air is cleaner.
Dadi: (Warm) This is what Diwali is all about—coming together, celebrating with joy, and taking care
of our home.
[The stage is filled with light, music, and laughter as the play concludes.]
