    ugraṃ vīram mahāviṣnum


    jvalantaṃ sarvatōmukhaṃ
    nṛsiṃhaṃ bhiṣaṇaṃ bhadraṃ
    mṛtyumṛtyuṃ namāmyaham
    Sri Narasimha Prayer for Protection from fear and anxiety
    This prayer was offered by Bhakta Prahlada to his beloved Lord Narasimha.

    I offer my respectful obeisances unto Lord


    oṁ namo bhagavate narasiṁhāya Nṛsiṁhadeva, the source of all power.

    namas tejas-tejase āvir-āvirbhava Please be fully manifest.

    vajra-nakha vajra-daṁṣṭra O my Lord who possesses nails and teeth just like
    thunderbolts,
    karmāśayān randhaya randhaya tamo
    Kindly vanquish our demon-like desires to be happy by
    grasa grasa oṁ svāhā; material activities.

    abhayam abhayam ātmani bhūyiṣṭhā Please appear in our hearts and drive away our
    ignorance so that by Your mercy we may become
    oṁ kṣraum fearless in the struggle for existence in this material
    world.
    Namaste Narasimhaya

    नमस्ते नरस िंहाय namas te narasiḿhāya I offer my obeisances to Lord


    Narasimha, who gives joy to
    प्रह्लादाह्लाद-दासयने prahlādāhlāda-dāyine Prahlada Maharaja, and whose
    सहरण्यकसिपोर्वक्षः - hiraṇyakaśipor vakṣaḥ nails are like chisels on the stone
    like chest of the demon
    सिला-टङ्क-नखालये śilā-ṭańka-nakhālaye
    Hiranyakasipu

    इतो नृस िंहः परतो नृस िंहो ito nṛsiḿhaḥ parato nṛsiḿho Lord Nrsimha is here and also
    there. Wherever I go Lord Nrsimha
    यतो यतो यासम ततो नृस िंहः yato yato yāmi tato nṛsiḿhaḥ is there. He is in the heart and is
    बसहनृवस िंहो हृदये नृस िंहो bahir nṛsiḿho hṛdaye nṛsiḿho outside as well. I surrender to Lord
    Nrsimha, the origin of all things and
    नृस िंहमासदिं िरणिं प्रपद्ये nṛsiḿham ādiḿ śaraṇaḿ prapadye
    the supreme refuge

    तर् करकमलर्रे tava kara-kamala-vare O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O


    Lord Hari, who have assumed the
    नखमद् भुत-शृङ्गिं nakham adbhuta-śṛńgaḿ form of half-man, half-lionl All
    दसलतसहरण्यकसिपुतनुभृङ्गम् dalita-hiraṇyakaśipu-tanu-bhṛńgam glories to You! lust as one can easily
    crush a wasp between one's
    केिर् धृतनरहरररूप keśava dhṛta-narahari-rūpa
    fingernails, so in the same way the
    जय जगदीि हरे jaya jagadīśa hare. body of the wasp like demon
    Hiranyakasipu has been ripped
    apart by the wonderful pointed
    nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.
