the heaven of festivals in this respect because it has a long list
of festivals with different varieties.
Great religious festivals like Durga Puja, Eid, Bada-Din(X-Mas),
Maharam get equal weightage those of similar ones
like Pitha-Parban, Holi, Naba-barsa etc.In fact the celebration
of the birthdays of great men like Rabindranath Tagore
, Swami Vivekananda, Kazi Nazrul, Subhas Chandra Bose is no
less than a festival for Bengali who devotes time and energy
for the preparation and participation in those festivals. Thus it
is truly spoken that life in Bengal evolves around
the involvement in festivals throughout the year.</p>

<p align="justify"> Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals of
Hindus. It is celebrated in Autumn.
People from different states and abroad come to visit this
ocassion. Durga Puja is celebrated for four days namely
Saptami, Ostami, Naabami and Dashami.
Schools, colleges and offices are closed on those days. People
and children wear colourful dresses like sarees and Punjabi.
People doing pandals hopping
throughout those days test different street foods. </p>

Muslims. It is celebrated in summer.
People from different states and abroad celebrate this occasion.
Eid comes after the lapse of Ramzan month and marks a happy
communion after a month of prayer and fasting.

and children wear colourful dresses. People roam around
different places
throughout those days and test different street foods. </p>

annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ,
observed primarily in December as a religious and cultural
celebration among billions of people
around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year,
it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and
initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the
West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night;[12] in
some traditions, Christmastide includes an octave. Christmas
Day is a public holiday in many of the world's nations, is
celebrated religiously by a majority of
Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and
forms an integral part of the holiday season centred around it.

<p align="justify"> Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival,
originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is celebrated
predominantly in India but has also spread to other areas of
Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora from
the Indian subcontinent. Holi is popularly known as the Indian
"festival of spring", the "festival of colours", or the "festival of
love".
The festival signifies the victory of good over evil. It signifies
the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love,
and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh,
forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. The festival
also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season.
It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the
Purnima (Full Moon day) falling in the
Vikram Samvat Calendar, in the Hindu calendar month of
Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the
Gregorian calendar. The first evening is known as Holika Dahan
(burning of demon Holika) or Chhoti Holi and the following day
as Holi, Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Dhulandi, or Phagwah. </p>
