Course Objectives

The basic objective of this course to familiarize the students with the basic concepts
of computer and its applications in business and accounting / Finance environment.
Develop awareness of computers ‘hardware and peripherals; concepts regarding
software – its types, basic operations. Develop advanced user level skills in various
Application Packages: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Set up a computer for
World Wide Web connection; Use e-mail to send / receive messages and file
attachments.

Course Outcome

The students understand the basic use of computer and especially how computer
applications help in business and finance fields. This subject enables the Accounting
& Finance graduates to use the software and make documentations & presentations
by using software (MS OFFICE).

Testing & Grading


1. Learning will be accomplished through lectures, outside readings, case analysis
and student participation in classroom discussion and presentation.
2. Grading will tend to focus on your overall performance rather than one or two
aspects. A mid-term examination of 30 marks and a comprehensive final
examination of 50 marks will be given.
3. Test questions may be taken from textbook reading, hypertext material,
additional material discussed in class and/or other assigned readings.
