usually located in a blue pouch onboard the aircraft (usually in AFM).
Caution: Ensure that power is available through a GPU so that power is not
interrupted during the loading process. Plug the main ships batteries
in for a buffer in case power is lost from the GPU.

Introduction G5000 System Familiarization
When in configuration mode, select GDU controls on left side of the GTC. Ensure that PFD 1 is
selected on the screen. The dual concentric knobs on the lower right bezel will be utilized, and
throughout this document will be referred to as the FMS small and large knob. The Enter
button will be in the lower right part of the screen.
The displays can be individually powered down by turning the outer knob of the respective
dimming knob to the left to shut off the display unit. Locations are shown in the above image.
An alternative is to pull the respective circuit breakers shown below.
• PFD 1
o L PFD (Left CB Panel - O4) & L PFD AUX (Left CB Panel - L4)

Section 1 Reasons to Use This Document
• With the introduction of the -40 software load in the Latitude, the Intelligent LRU
loading procedure was introduced. This is continued in the -45 software load.
o It is vital that technicians use the LRU replacement page for loading software and
configurations to LRUs after swapping or replacing.
o Instructions are in the maintenance manual in section 34-60-03 “GARMIN G5000
INTEGRATED AVIONICS SYSTEM LRU/OPTION SOFTWARE VERSION 45
CONFIGURATION – ADJUSTMENT/TEST”.
• If software and/or configurations were loaded for an LRU using the SYSTEM UPLOAD
page, then a complete configuration load is required.
o The instructions provided in this document are to assist the technician in resetting
the software and configuration correctly for the system to function correctly.
• The instructions include:
o How to determine what options are installed for reinstallation later.
o Performing a complete configuration load.
o Reinstall options.
o Performing PERF and TOLD loading.
o Performing CMC diagnostic configuration loading.
o Performing Aircraft Configuration loading.
o Final Verification / Return to Service

Section 2 Determine Settings & Options Currently Installed
Note: The Default crew profile is already on the Crew Profile SD card, and does
not need to be exported. If it is the only profile, then no other steps in this
section is necessary.

Determine Options Installed
Note: This is with the G5000 powered up in configuration mode.
• Setting the G5000 up in configuration mode:
1) Pull the following circuit breakers:
L PFD GTC (Left CB Panel - E4)
MFD L GTC (Left CB Panel - N3)
MFD R GTC (Right CB Panel – MM4)
R PFD GTC (Right CB Panel – NN4)
2) Turn the dimmer knob to off for PFD 1, MFD, and PFD 2.
3) Insert the 010-01273-26 software loader card into the upper slot of PFD 2.
4) Turn aircraft and avionics power on.
5) Press and hold the right knob on the left PFD GTC and push the L PFD GTC circuit
breaker (E4) in.
Let go when you see initializing.
6) Press and hold the right knob on the left MFD GTC and push the MFD L GTC circuit
breaker (N3) in.
Let go when you see initializing.
7) Press and hold the right knob on the right MFD GTC and push the MFD R GTC
circuit breaker (MM4) in.
Let go when you see initializing.
8) Press and hold the right knob on the right PFD GTC and push the R PFD GTC circuit
breaker (NN4) in.
Let go when you see initializing.
9) Turn the R PFD dimming knob on to power the display.
It will load files from the card.
PFD 2 should come up in configuration mode.
• SYSTEM STATUS should show at the top of the screen.
• Pull the 010-01273-26 software loader card from the upper slot of
PFD 2.
10) Insert the 010-01273-26 software loader card into the upper slot of the MFD.
11) Turn the MFD dimming knob on to power the display.
It will load files from the card.
MFD should come up in configuration mode.
• SYSTEM STATUS should show at the top of the screen.
• Pull the 010-01273-26 software loader card from the upper slot of
the MFD.
12) Insert the 010-01273-26 software loader card into the upper slot of PFD 1.

13) Turn the L PFD dimming knob on to power the display.
It will load files from the card.
PFD 1 should come up in configuration mode.
SYSTEM UPLOAD should show at the top of the screen.
14) Select GDU Controls on the GTC.
15) Rotate the small FMS knob to the right and select TRANSACTION LOG page.
16) A list of current files loaded to the system will be shown. See image below.
The most recent files are at the top of the list.
It will potentially show:
• CMC Configuration
• Options from unlock SD cards
• Options from Software Loader SD card
• Base Load
17) Record the options noted on the Transaction Log in Table 1

Section 3 Software and Configuration Loading
This section will provide the steps necessary to correct the configurations in the system for an
erroneous load using the SYSTEM UPLOAD page.
1) Rotate the small FMS knob to the right and select SYSTEM UPLOAD page.
2) Activate the cursor by pushing down on the FMS knob.
3) Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘Model 680a Base
Configuration’ in the GROUP field.
4) Press the Enter key.
5) Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘Model 680a Base’ in
the ITEM field.
6) Press the Enter key.
7) In the PRODUCT window, the LRUs will populate.
8) Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight CLR ALL at the bottom of the display.
9) Press the Select button on the GTC.
10) Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight CHK CFG at the bottom of the display.
11) Press the Select button on the GTC.
12) Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight LOAD at the bottom of the display.
13) Press the Select button on the GTC.
• A full configuration load takes approximately 30 minutes including the
Card Copy function at the end of the list.
14) Acknowledge when ‘Upload and Crossfill Complete’ is displayed by pressing the
Enter key.
15) Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight UPDT CFG at the bottom of the display.
16) Press the Select button on the GTC.
17) Select YES, and press the Enter key.
18) Acknowledge when ‘Update Config Complete’ is displayed by pressing the Enter
key.

Section 4 Reinstalling Options
This section will provide the steps necessary to reload the options that were originally
installed.
1) Rotate the large knob to the left until in the GROUP field.
2) Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘Options’ in the
GROUP field.
3) Press the Enter key.
4) Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘FK629S-
Stormscope’ in the ITEM field.
5) Press the Enter key.

Note: Each option using an unlock card is assuming this is the first you are loading. If you have
already loaded an option with an unlock card, then steps 1 & 2 are already complete.

Since a full configuration load was completed, then the CMC Diagnostics, Aircraft
Configurations, and crew profiles must be loaded.
• Insert the 8445006-13 CMC Configuration SD card into the upper slot of the PFD 1.
• Place the G5000 back in configuration by rotating the dimmer knob to on for PFD 1.
• The system upload page should be visible on the PFD 1.
1) Push in on the knob to get the cursor blinking under the Group line.
2) Rotate the small knob for the drop down menu and press enter on 680A CMC
Config.
3) The cursor will move to the Item line.
4) Rotate the small knob for the drop down menu and highlight 8445006-13 V3.10.
5) Press Enter.
6) Rotate the small knob until the cursor is on the ‘Clear CMC Logs’ Line.
7) Press Enter to place a check mark in the box.
This is the only way to check this box. Check All will not do it.
It is very important that this step is completed, or a reload of the
configurations of the entire system will be required to be performed to
remove the amber INCOMPLETE message that will appear.
8) Use the arrow buttons on the GTC and highlight LOAD at the bottom of the
display.
9) Press the Select button on the GTC.
As the load is commencing, the card copy line will appear and check itself.
• It will load itself.
Acknowledge when ‘Upload and Crossfill Complete’ is displayed.
• Verify the diagnostic configuration upload succeeded.
1) Push the FMS knob to deactivate the cursor.
2) Rotate the small knob on the GTC, and scroll to the ‘TRANSACTION LOG’ page.
3) Ensure that at the top of the page that the following is present:
LOADER IMAGE Column will state ‘Not Available’.
GROUP Column will state ‘680a CMC Config’.
ITEM Column will state ‘8445006-13 V3.10’.
STATUS Column will state ‘NO TRANS ID’ in white.
4) There can be no amber or red items in the STATUS column showing anywhere in
the TRANSACTION LOG page.

display.
6) Press the Select button on the GTC.

Section 6 Performance & TOLD Database Loading
Performance Database
• Rotate the dimmer knobs off for all three displays to power them off.
• Remove the 8445006-13 CMC Configuration SD card from the upper slot of PFD 1.
• Insert the 010-01585-00 Performance Database SD card into the upper slot of PFD 2.
• Turn on the R PFD dimmer knob.
o Once it loads the files, it will boot up into configuration mode.
o SYSTEM STATUS should show at the top of the screen.
o Pull the 010-01585-00 card from the upper slot of PFD 2.
• Insert the 010-01585-00 Performance Database SD card into the upper slot of the MFD.
• Turn on the MFD dimmer knob.
o Once it loads the files, it will boot up into configuration mode.
o SYSTEM STATUS should show at the top of the screen.
o Pull the 010-01585-00 card from the upper slot of the MFD.
• Insert the 010-01585-00 Performance Database SD card into the upper slot of PFD 1.
• Turn on the L PFD dimmer knob.
o Once it loads the files, it will boot up into configuration mode.
o SYSTEM UPLOAD should show at the top of the screen.
• Activate the cursor by pushing down on the FMS knob.
• Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘PERF Table’ in the GROUP
field.
• Press the Enter key.
• Rotate the small knob to drop the menu down, and highlight ‘PERF Table’ in the ITEM
field.
• Press the Enter key.
• It will populate the PRODUCT window with:
o PERF Table GTC 1
o PERF Table GTC 2
o PERF Table GTC 3
o PERF Table GTC 4
o CARD COPY
• Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight CHK ALL at the bottom of the display.
• Press the Select button on the GTC.

• Perform the Transaction ID Verification:
o Ensure that the bottom entry shows:
LOADER IMAGE shows ‘006-B2009-45’
GROUP shows ‘Model 680a Base Configuration’
ITEM shows ‘Model 680a Base’
STATUS shows PASS (in green)
o Verify the transaction logs for the installed options:
Ensure that there is a line entry for each installed option.
Ensure that each has a PASS (in green) in the STATUS column.
Ensure that there is NOT a line entry marked CNFM CFG with ‘FLEET ID
UPDATED’ (in amber) in the STATUS column.
• If it is present in amber the load must be started over.
Note: A line entry of CNFM CFG with AIRCRAFT ID UPDATED (in white) in
the STATUS column, or no line entry with CNFM CFG is acceptable.
o The line entry for the 680a CMC CONFIG was already verified earlier.
o Ensure there are no entries with an amber or red indication in the STATUS
column.
Green and white are the only acceptable colors for status.

Section 8 Aircraft Configuration
Aircraft Configuration
• Fuel & Aircraft Weight
o Verify fuel and aircraft weight are set to the desired unit:
Rotate the small FMS knob to go to the SYSTEM SETUP page.
Push the FMS knob to activate the cursor.
Rotate the large FMS knob to FUEL line in the DISPLAY UNITS box.
Rotate the small FMS knob and highlight KILOGRAMS or POUNDS.
Press the Enter key.
Push the FMS knob to deactivate the cursor.
• Transponder and TCAS Configuration:
o Rotate the small FMS knob to go to the AIRCRAFT CONFIGURATION page.
o Make sure that the registration and VFR code are correct. If not, do as follows:
Push the FMS knob to activate the cursor.
The cursor should be on the Aircraft Registration line.
• Enter the aircraft tail number using the keyboard button on the GTC.
• A Hexadecimal code will need to be entered for foreign registered
aircraft.
• The VFR code will need to be set to the correct value for the country
of registry.
o Make sure that the Domain Identifier is correct as follows:
Access the website: txtavsupport.com and log on using your User Name and
Password.
Under MY MODELS, select ‘Citation 680A’.
Under AVIONICS, select ‘Domain Identifier’.
Find the desired country and the associated three letter Identifier.
Note: An example of a three letter Identifier is “USA” for the United States.
If the value entered is not correct, enter the three letter Identifier into the
Domain Identifier line using the keyboard button on the GTC.
o Complete the Transponder and TCAS Configuration as follows:
Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight SET GTX 1 at the bottom of the
display.
• Press the Select button on the GTC.
• Press the Enter key to select YES.
• Press the Enter key to acknowledge.

Using the arrows on the GTC, highlight SET GTX 2 at the bottom of the
display.
• Press the Select button on the GTC.
• Press the Enter key to select YES.

Confirm AIRCRAFT ID
• Rotate the small FMS knob until on the CONFIGURATION MANAGER page.
• Verify that the 2 AIRCRAFT ID numbers match.
• If they do not:
o Use the arrows on the GTC, highlight CNFRM CFG at the bottom of the display.
o Press the Select button on the GTC.
o A pop-up window will appear stating ‘Confirm configuration as expected
configuration?’
o Select OK, and press the Enter key.
o At the top of the screen the EXPECTED CONFIGURATION ID column for the
AIRCRAFT row should now match the ACTUAL CONFIGURATION ID column for the
AIRCRAFT row.

Transaction Log
• Push the FMS knob to deactivate the cursor.
• Rotate the small knob until on the ‘TRANSACTION LOG’ page.
• Perform the Transaction ID Verification:

Crew Profile Loading
• Turn aircraft power off.
• Remove the 010-01586-00 TOLD Database SD card from the upper slot of PFD 1.
• Insert the new Crew Profile SD card 8431108-9 into the upper slot of the MFD.
• Turn aircraft power on.
• On the left GTC controller:
o Select Aircraft Systems.
o Select Maintenance.
o Select Set Default Profile.
o Select Cessna 680A DEFAULT Profile.
• Select OK when prompted.
• Select Home.
o Select Utilities.
o Select Crew Profile.
o Select Restore Defaults.
o Select OK when prompted.
• In the Default Profile button, the Pilot Profile CRC number is listed.
o Verify that it is: CEB16000
