Roles and Responsibilities


 Project/ Site Engineer: Will work directly at site with the surveyor
to ensure that all the required information has been provided to
proceed with the works, and that the works comply with the project
specifications and method statements. He liaises with the Client's

staff with respect to inspections and approvals, aided by the


Foremen. He reports to the Project Manager.

 QA/ QC Engineer: Ensures that all procedures are followed in


accordance with the Contract Specifications, Conditions of Contract,
Project Quality Plan, Inspection and test plan developed and
approved by consultant

 HSE Manager / Advisor: He visits the activities on site and checks


if the works are carried out as per laws, Health, Safety and
Environmental Plan and method statements. He advises all
members of the hierarchic line on any shortcomings or additional
measures to be taken and reports to the Project Manager. He has
the power to stop the works immediately if required.

 Project Manager/ SITE Agent: He is the end responsible of the


project. He is responsible for organizing induction and training of
people, organizing the site team and ensures that sufficient and
adequate safety equipment is available. He is the chairman of the
Safety Committee.

 Foreman/Asst. Foreman: directly supervises the work activity on


the site and has full control over the use of the labor, plant and
equipment. He ensures that the work is carried out in full
compliance with the specifications, and in a manner that is conform
to the Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements. He reports
to the Coordinator/Supervisor when the work is completed.

 Surveyor: He is the end responsible for setting out and levels as


mentioned in the approved latest drawings.

5.0 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

 A regular inspection carried out daily by our Safety advisor to the site.

 All the safety measure should be taken during the work following the
HSE plan, Method Statement & Risk assessment.

 Permit to dig to be obtained prior to commencement of the task

 Cable detector (CAT) or multi scanning device shall be used to identify


the location of utilities.

 All workers to be wearing appropriate PPE within working area.

 All tools and equipment to be in good working order.

 Regardless of severity any injuries should be reported to concerned


supervisor immediately.

 A tool box talks and job safety analysis to be done prior to


commencement of the activity.

 Ensure all workers aware of the hazards/ Risks associated with the
Task.

 Appropriate signage shall be placed at site as per the approved shop


drawing.

 Area should be strictly controlled & entry restricted for unauthorized


persons.

 Work should be carried under strict competent supervision

 Flash lights will be used for night works.

 Enough lighting will be ensured in work locations.

 Portable electrical equipment’s will be inspected by Electrical Engineer


& HSEA
6.0 METHODOLOGY

 PTW to be obtained from O&M/Authority.

 Trial Trenches to locate the existing services will be done in the


following sequence as per Authority standards and requirements.

 Set out the location for the repairing of sewerage line as per
Construction Drawing.

 Existing Asphalt to be cut and removed at the marked locations.

 Existing geo textile, aggregate and pipe to be exposed for the repairing
work.

 Carry out trial excavation by hand to determine the location of the


existing utility services.

 Mechanical equipment will be used further excavation after


confirmation by trial trench.

 Width of excavated trenches shall be minimum as required and the


depth according to the underground services.

 If the depth is more than 1.2m multi step excavation shall be carried
out depending on the depth of utilities / Shoring to the provided as per
site condition

 Protection for existing gas line to be done as per ADNOC standard / as


directed by ADNOC engineer

 Gas Network is 3 meter away from the sewer network (Drawing


attached) and Mechanical equipment will not harm the existing gas
network

 Crossing area will be done after confirmation of Gas line / other


services by trial trench. The mechanical equipment will not be used
above / near the Gas line.

 Dewatering if required shall be carried out as per site requirement.

 After locating all the existing services, the excavation to be carried out
the required level for the repairing work.

 Existing pipe to be repaired or to be changed as per consultant /


Authority instructions and required test to be done.

 After repairing / changing, the pipe to be covered with geotextile and


aggregate as per authority standard.

 Backfilling shall be carried out carefully as required level.

 Asphalt to be carried out as per authority standard / Drawing.

 After completing all the works inspection to be carried out by consultant


/ client for the final clearance.
