Reproductive System

Reproduction: is the process of producing offspring or making sex cells

• The reproductive System is different in males than in females.


• Living things reproduce to make more offspring and have a generation
• Human life:

Zygote → Toddler → Child → Teenager → adult → zygote

• Parts of the reproductive system grows and develops as you grow.


• At the adult age, you have fully developed and can reproduce.
• Puberty: is when your body develops and grows internally and
externally for reproduction.
• Puberty is changes of the body due to hormones.
• Puberty age for girls: around 11 years old
• Puberty age for boys: around 13 years old

1. Oily skin (pimples)

2. Deeper voice

3. Hair grows on face and body parts

4. Broad and wide shoulders and chest

• Body changes for girls:

1. Oily skin (pimples)

• Changes in the reproductive system:


• The body makes special cells for reproduction called sex cells.
• Female sex cells are called eggs (ova)
• Male sex cells are called sperms
• Ferilisation: is when the sperm joins with the egg and forms a zygote
that grows into a baby.

• Fertilisation happens in the oviduct.
• Menstruation: Unfertilised egg (egg with sperm) dies and falls out
with blood.
• Menstruation happens for girls every month during puberty.

Male reproductive parts

• Function of the male reproductive parts:

1. Testis: produce the male sex cells, sperms

2. Sperm duct: carries the sperms to the penis

3. Penis: releases the sperm

Female reproductive parts

• Function of the female reproductive parts:

1. Ovary (ovaries): produce the female sex cells, eggs.

2. Oviduct: carries eggs, and where fertilization happens.

3. Uterus (womb): where the baby develops

4. Vagina: release of menstruation (egg with blood -> period), release of


baby, and receives sperms from penis.
