Introduction
We the class of 4GS are conducting are conducting this intramural event to gain
knowledge about how many people in our school will be willing to play the sport
we are hosting and that sport is volleyball considering it quite an easy sport to learn
and many participants would want the partake in it because they are many volley
players in the school of Edward P. Yorke. All the third for classes ( 3 Business, 3
Science, 3Arts, 3 General Studies and 3 Integrated Science) are partaking in our
intramural event along with a few other students to help them out. I took on the
role as a coach for this event because coaches are the one who come up with plans
and strategies for the team and give them advice and tactics along the way and I
wanted to feel how coaches manage their team and how they bring along their
teams and i would like to eventually be a coach in the near future.
History of Volleyball
Volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, physical director of the Young
Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Volleyball is played by
either male only teams, female only teams or both male and female teams. Volleyball is
mostly an indoor sport but it can also be played outside preferably on the sand like on a
beach. The original name was Mintonette before it was replaced with Volley ball.

Schedule Of Events

This is a schedule of the events of the game that will occur throughout Monday’s and
Friday’s so we can eliminate the other third for ]m classes to have one clear winner in
our competition. We made teams compete against each other to decide who is the
greatest 3rd form of them all. Some classes are made up of second formers but all of
the are placed under a third for class to make up for the classes that had not met the
player requirement. The equipment needed to play the role as a coach would be a list of
names of the players that will be on the team, a piece of paper to show the positions of
the players and their substitute and a whistle to blow if the coach wants a swap or seen
a player injured.
Individual Roles
Coach
A good coach needs to have a list of his players and substitutes, a whistle and
placement paper to show what positions his players will be at and their rotations. The
coach meets up with their players two days before the match to make sure everything is
going according to plan and to make sure all his players will attend the game and have
everything prepared for them. The coach will have flyers and warm up routines for his
players so they can have their blood properly flowing and not have any cramps in the
middle of their match.
