Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra

Department of Posts has announced the expansion of Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra
in Tamil Nadu. Currently, 49 Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras are operational in the
state, and additional 5 centers set to commence operations shortly. This is a
significant step towards simplifying export operations for businesses in Tamil
Nadu. Department of Posts organized a successful workshop on e-commerce
Exports and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra on 28th August 2023 at Kanchipuram. The
workshop has brought together industrial experts, government officials, and
handloom export especially silk handloom and promotion council to explore the
opportunities and benefits of utilizing Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra services for
streamlining export processes.
Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra serves as a one-stop destination for exporters,
providing comprehensive assistance and streamlined processes for export-
related documentation, logistics, customs procedures and packing. The centers
offer valuable support to businesses, empowering them to navigate the
complexities of international trade with ease.

Indian Post Payment Bank


At India Post Payments Bank, we believe that a nation can grow when every
citizen has an opportunity to prosper, regardless of their way of life. With
simple, diverse and growth-oriented offerings, IPPB aims to provide every
household in India an access to efficient banking services and enable them to
become financially secure and empowered.
India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) was setup under the Department of Post,
Ministry of Communication with 100% equity owned by Government of India.
IPPB was launched as a pilot project on 30 January 2017 in Ranchi (Jharkhand)
and Raipur (Chhattisgarh), with the objective of being present across India by
the FY 2018-2019. IPPB has expanded its strength across India covering post
offices, through a network one Branch and 649 Banking outlets manned by
Business Correspondents, working on a hub and spoke model.

Savings Account

Your aadhaar number, pan card or form 60 and biometric validation (fingerprint
verification) details, and OTP verification would suffice to open a regular
savings account at IPPB. Customer needs to carry his/her registered mobile
number with aadhaar.

NSC Account
Fill out the NSC application form available online as well as at all Indian post
offices. Submit self attested copies of required KYC documents. You must carry
the original documents as well for further verification. Make the payment of the
amount to be invested by cash or through cheque.

Senior Citizen Savings Account

Fill out the application form available at the bank or post office.
 Fill the KYC form
 Provide PAN card number
 Address proof
 Recent photograph
 Age proof
 Aadhaar card
 Retirement benefits disbursal ID

RD Account

To open a Post Office RD account online, you need to install the India Post
Payments Bank (IPPB) app on your mobile device. You can also make RD
payments online with the help of the app. Alternatively, you can apply for a
Recurring Deposits account by visiting the nearest post office branch where you
need to fill and submit the form along with the KYC documents and deposit
slip.

Monthly Income Scheme

The maximum limit in the case of joint accounts is rs. 15 lakhs and the singular
limit is rs. 9 lakhs.
Minor account- you can open a POMIS minor account in the name of your
child. The age limit for minors is above 10 years. He/she can withdraw the
amount after maturing for 18 years.
In order to move towards creating a universal social security system for all
Indians, specially the poor and the under-privileged, three ambitious Jan
Suraksha Schemes or Social Security Schemes pertaining to Insurance and
Pension Sector were announced by the Government in the Budget for 2015-16.
The schemes were launched on 9th May, 2015, for providing life & accident
risk insurance and social security at a very affordable cost namely (a) Pradhan
Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and (b) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima
Yojana and (c) Atal Pension Yojana.
Mahila Samman Saving Cerificate

It is a one time small savings scheme introduced by the government for a


woman with a maturity period of 2 years. A woman or guardian of a girl child
can open this account and deposit a maximum of rs. 2 lakhs. They will get an
interest of 7.5% p.a on the deposited account.
NPS
 National Pension System (NPS) is a voluntary retirement savings
scheme laid out to allow the subscribers to make defined contribution
towards planned savings thereby securing the future in the form of
Pension. It is an attempt towards a sustainable solution to the problem
of providing adequate retirement income to every citizen of India.
 At the time of normal exit from NPS, the subscribers may use the
accumulated pension wealth under the scheme to purchase a life
annuity from a PFRDA empaneled life insurance company apart from
withdrawing a part of the accumulated pension wealth as lump-sum, if
they choose so. PFRDA is the nodal agency for implementation and
monitoring of NPS.

Current Account

IPPB offers the facility of a Current Account to the small merchants/ kirana
stores and individual businessmen. This account is a prerequisite for carrying
out and expanding business. IPPB’s Current Account gets you started on the
road to digital transactions for your business needs. Along with this, IPPB also
offers a Merchant App for meeting business requirements. The current account
can be opened at the Post Office Counters or at your doorstep through our
Postman/GDS.

Kisan Vikas Patra Scheme

The Kisan Vikas Patra scheme, introduced in 1988 as a small savings certificate
program, aimed to promote long-term financial planning and discipline among
people. Initially targeted at farmers, the scheme's name reflected this focus.
However, anyone meeting the eligibility requirements can invest in the scheme
today.

This post office scheme has a fixed term of 115 months and provides
guaranteed returns to investors. Individuals can obtain a certificate for the
scheme from any India Post Office branch or select public sector banks.

It comprises of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana which offer Rs. 1000 to
Rs. 5000, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana offering Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2
lakh for accidents, and Atal Pension Yojana offering Rs.2 lakh insurance cover.

Following the success of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme, an
accidental cover scheme, which became a hit with the citizens of the country,
the Modi-led government has introduced three new schemes known as the Jan
Suraksha Schemes. The schemes cover areas such as insurance for the poor,
pension and so on.

The three schemes introduced under the Jan Suraksha Schemes are,

1. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana


2. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
3. Atal Pension Yojana

The schemes were simultaneously launched in 160 cities and towns across
India.

PM Cares For Children Scheme

The PM CARES for Children Scheme was launched by The Hon'ble Prime who
have lost both the Parents or legal Guardian or Adoptive Parents or Surviving
Parent to COVID-19 pandemic during the period starting from 11th March
2020. The objective of the Scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and
protection of Children in a sustained manner, and enable their well being
through health insurance, empower them through education and equip them for
self-sufficient existence with financial support on reaching 23 years of age.

Passport Seva Kendra

In recent years, the Government of India has taken many initiatives to


usher in an era of e-Governance to improve the delivery of public services.
The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) includes many high impact e-
Governance projects that have been identified as Mission Mode Projects
(MMP's). One such project focuses on reforming Passport services in India.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is responsible for issuance of
Passports to Indian Citizens through a network of 36 Passport offices
across the Country and 190 Indian Missions and Posts abroad.
Passport Seva enables simple, efficient and transparent processes for
delivery of passport and related services. Apart from creating a
countrywide networked environment for Government staff, it integrates
with the State Police for physical verification of applicant's credentials and
with India Post for delivery of passports

Senior Citizen Welfare Fund

The senior citizen welfare fund shall be an interest bearing accunt in the
public act of the union of india and shall be administered by the committee
accounts of employees’ provident fund under the employees’ provident
funds and miscellaneous provisions act, 1952.

Prasadam

Customer can avail of Indiapost services for delivery of Prasad and other holy
offerings from religious shrines/ place of worship.

Process for booking:-


The booking for ‘Swamy Prasadam’ can be made by a devotee at any of the
Departmental Post Office across the country by paying the requisite amount
along with order form. The devotee will have to download the order form, fill
up the order form and submit at any of the Departmental Post Office across the
country. The devotee can book three types of prasadam packets viz. Packet with
one Aravana and other prasadam, packet with 4 aravana and other prasadam and
packet with 10 aravana and other prasadam. For more packets he has to book in
separate receipts. There is no upper limit for the number of bookings that can be
made by a devotee. The “Swamy Prasadam” packet will reach devotee through
Speed Post service of India Post. A receipt will be issued to the customer
