Program A graduate of Master in Information Technology should be able to:

manpower resources to promote the growth of Information
and Communication Technology.

Technology (IT), to solve problems, improve or re-engineer
process or organizations
3. Provide students with theoretical or practical knowledge on
various aspects of information systems planning, system
implementation, systems integration and project

Course The course introduces concepts, principles and technologies


Description associated with data communication and computer networks. The
emphasis is on basic principles and important topics concerning
network architecture, mechanisms and protocols.
This course provides some practical exposure to the
communication and networking concepts. Topics covered include
network models, protocols, signals, transmission, encoding
modulation, switching wireless technologies, encryption, compression,
and network management.

Course By the end of the course, you should be able to:
Outcomes 1. Apply theories and operations of the Open Systems Interconnection
model.
2. Understand the applicability of the different types of networks and
the topologies it used.
3. Understand the Local Area Network technologies with the use of
Ethernet.
4. Apply the theories and operations of the IP address that uniquely
identifies the devices across the network.
5. Understand the application of switching technologies in designing a
network.
6. Design and developed the data movement across the internetwork
from a source to destination and discovering the best path of data can
be sent using the concept of routing technology.
7. Apply the concept of switching and routing technologies in designing
Wide Area Networks and its governing protocols.
8. Understand the provisions made in an underlying computer network
infrastructure, policies adopted by the network administrator to
protect the network and the network-accessible resources from
unauthorized access and the effectiveness.
