Giving and following directions – there are different instances when one has to give or follow a

set of instructions
Subject – the word or group of words being talked about in a sentence
Adverbs – this modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs
Adverbial phrase – a group of two or more words that functions as an adverb in a sentence
Type of Adverb:
Adverb of Time, Adverb of Place, Adverb of Frequency, Adverb of Manner, Adverb of Degree
Example of Adverb of Time:
Tomorrow, yesterday, now, next year, soon
Example of Adverb of Place:
Behind, back, under, on, in
Example of Adverb of Frequency:
Always, usually, normally, often, never
Example of Adverb of Manner:
Awkwardly, badly, loudly, honestly, kindly
Example of Adverb of Degree:
Lots, well, little, far, almost
Adverb of Time – answer the question When
Adverb of Place – answer the question where
Adverb of Frequency – answer the question how often
Adverb of Manner – answer the question How or In what way
Adverb of Degree – Answer the question To what extent
Prepositions – are words that show how a noun or a pronoun is related to the word in a
sentence
Three examples of Prepositions:
Time, place, direction
Conjunction – A word that connects words or group of words
Coordinating conjunctions – are join equal structure: word to word, phrase to phrase
For – explains reason or purpose
And – adds one thing to another
Nor – presents an alternative negative idea to a negative idea
But – show contrast
Or – presents an alternative or an option
Yet – presents a contrasting idea
So – indicates an effect a result or a consequence
Subordinating Conjunction – makes one clause subordinate or dependent of the other clause
Example of subordinating conjunctions:
After, although, as, as if, because, before, even if, if, since, so that, though, unless, until, when,
whenever, where, wherever, whether, while
Law – abiding – obeying the law or abiding by or obedient to the law
Kennel – a dog house a place where dogs are kept or bred or a shelter for a dog or cat
Dispenser – a container that extrudes, sprays, or feeds out in convenient units a usually
mechanical device for vending machines
Console – the dislike frame containing the keys, stops, etc. of an organ
Guild – an association for mutual aid and the promotion of common interests
Castigate – to rebuke severly esp by public criticism
Grotesque – it grotto grotto: from designs found in caves distorted or fantastic
Hoax – a trick or a fraud a practical joke
Insatiable – that cannot be satisfied
Intoxicate – to make drunk to excite greatly
