My stumbling blocks became my stepping stones.

I felt my body relax as the soothing song played in the background. My mind wandered back to the
memories I regretted the most. The grey owls hooted a melody that chorused with the moon's softest
lullaby.

The most challenging time of my life was when I was a child. My family could not afford to pay for my
schooling fees, and I always felt overshadowed by my older brother's success. I attempted everything to
get noticed by my parents, but it was all in vain. While entering my adolescent years, I became more
rebellious and stopped caring about school. I consumed my days playing video games and basketball
until I heard ‘Magic’ by TXT and became fascinated with music.

Music soon became my escape from reality, and I started learning how to produce songs. Later, I
became part of a group known as DT, short for "Daegu Town." After high school, I went to Balito with DT
to work as a musician. I kept it secret from my family as I knew they would never allow me to work with
music. Shortly after, I auditioned for a minor company that accepted trainees and was accepted. This
made my parents furious, and they stopped contacting me.

My trainee days remain the harshest time in my life, as I had barely any money. It was a daily struggle to
decide whether to eat or take the bus home. While working as a trainee, I decided to take up another
part-time job delivering food but while riding my motorcycle I suffered an accident. I was incapable of
shifting my left shoulder, but I had to lie to everyone as I thought I would get fired from the company. As
a result, I was incapable of practicing and got depressed. After a while, I was unable to tolerate the
stress anymore and decided to commit suicide. But after many therapy sessions and with much help
from my family. I was completely mentally prepared and after much training, I finally debuted with my
teammates as 'Apink.' I thought my life had finally turned around. But that has led to another critical
phase in my life since we had no fans or awards.

After three exhausting years, the group finally decided to give up. But at the 2016 Music Awards, we had
won our first ever award, which encouraged us to continue. The screaming of our fans brought me back
to my memories as a bright white and shimmering gold light enveloped the stage. As I strolled towards
the stage, ready to accept my award as 'Artist of the year'. My failures do not embarrass me rather
they indicate I have tried multiple times to succeed. All of my stumbling blocks
have proven to be my stepping stones to success.
