This document provides a critical reflection on theories of normal social connectedness. It discusses how social connectedness is a fundamental human need, and how isolation can negatively impact mental and physical health. However, it also notes that mental illness and physical sickness are not always directly caused by social disconnection alone. The document concludes by calling for a critical evaluation of arguments around social connectedness.

A critical reflection of a normal social connectedness base on a convectional theory

Every human being was born with a natural sense of being social and this trait attracts

the need for social connectedness. However, there may be times when humans may feel they

are in Isolation which may be a result of a lack of social connectedness. One may feel

disconnected from the rest of humankind just like day and night. This may lead to mental

health for the affected individual. The art of being socially connected is a fundamental human

need that should not be overlooked as it bears grave consequences that may live to affect for

decades long(Oser, and Biedermann, 2019.). When one undergoes a period of emotional

disconnection from the rest of humans, this can be stated as a state of isolation. Such a

situation may arise due to confinement, social disconnection or when one’s senses are

deprived of a certain freedom.

It should be understood that the human body has been designed in a manner that it is

capable of designing the state of its environs by the use of in-built sensors for the entire life

that one lives. The body has various organs that are made to sieve the various environmental

conditions such as sound, heat, coldness and many others and respond by relying upon an

appropriate signal to the brain for the appropriate action(Tengelin et al, 2020). Therefore, a

human being's biopsychosocial functioning is greatly drawn from the three aforementioned

traits. If one is cut from any of these attributes, he or she may suffer from social

disconnection and this may result in a real physical sickness or/and mental illness. It is thus

good to always check out people’s social lives and create room for modifications if a need

arises.

Social connectedness is real-life truth that cannot be evaded. All human beings were

made to naturally connect and mingle with one another. This is just equalled to when I say

that ‘The sun will rise tomorrow’. Is there any empirical formula that can prove or disapprove

this statement? Absolutely NO, we just live to wait and see the reality of this claim the

following day! Such is with social connectedness(Huda, 2022). However, a critical reflection

on this subject highlights the following objections; mental illness and physical sickness are

not necessarily caused by social disconnection as one may run mad due to drug abuse and

may physically fall sick as a result of an accident. The two examples used here are not

directly connected and are not sure proof of the argument that is raised. Critical evaluation of

these two events disapproves them as the main cause of events of social connectedness. A
