arrange your chairs properly.

d. Checking of Assignment
Do you have any assignment? None, teacher.

e. Energizer
Before we will start our discussion, let
us have first an energizer. Yes teacher!
Do you want an energizer class?
Let’s do it. (pupils do as told)
Ramsamsam

f. Classroom Management
Before we start our lesson I have rules
for you to follow inside in our
classroom.

1. Sit properly.
2. Listen attentively
3. Raise your right hand if you
want to answer and have a
question. Yes, teacher.

Is that clear?

Indicator 4: Establish safe and secure

learning environments to enhance
learning through the consistent
implementation of policies, guidelines
and procedures.

Drill
Directions: Solve equation with basic
arithmetic calculations.

Janet baked 12 cookies. Her brother

Johnny ate 4 of them. How many
cookies are left? 8 cookies are left teacher.
(Science Integration – solving a
problem)
Let’s play a game. Use the number
cards to fill in the blanks to make the
equation correct. Stick the number
cards using glue or a stick tape.

_____ + _____ - ______x_____= 1

Number cards: 2,5,3,2 5+2-3x2=1

Good job!

Review Past Lesson

Before moving on to the next topic,

what was our past lesson?
Anybody from the class

Yes, Ramil

Solving Multi-step Routine and Non-

Routine Problems Involving Division
and any of the Operations of Whole
Numbers including Money using
appropriate Problem-Solving Strategies
and Tools.

Very good!

What is a routine problem?

Is a translation problem in which you
can write an equation and there is an
immediate solution.

What are the 4 Step Plan in Solving

Multi-Step Routine Problems?

1. Understand
2. Plan
3. Solve
Non-routine problem, on the other 4. Check
hand, is a problem which requires
analysis and insights into know
principles of Mathematics. It involves
difficult problem solving.

Alright so now since you already know

what was our last topic. Now, let us go
forward to the other activity that I am
preparing for you.
B. Establishing a purpose Motivation
for the lesson
What will you do if the Elementary
Department pupils are not organized on
their parade?

Will you arrange it properly/orderly by

grade level.

Very Good class!

Base on the activity a while ago, what MDAS teacher.

is our lesson for today?

Okay very good!

C. Presenting Class, our topic for today is all about

examples/ instances Performs a series of two or more
of the new lesson operations applying Multiplication,
Division, Addition, Subtraction
(MDAS) correctly.

. At the end of the lesson

students are expected to:

a. Performs a series of
two or more
operations applying
Multiplication,
Division, Addition,
Subtraction (MDAS)
correctly.
b. Solve the series of
operation in MDAS
rules.
a. Value the importance
of following rules

There are siblings studied in

Elementary Department. First sibling is
in Grade 6 pupil, Second is in Grade 4
pupil and Third is in a Grade 5 pupil.
How can you arrange it orderly and
organized?
Arrange it orderly by grade
level teacher.
The MDAS stands for the 4 basic
operations. Multiplication, Division,
Addition, and Subtraction. The rules
say that; (1) Multiply or divide first in
the order as they come from left to
right. (2) Add or subtract in order as
they come from to right.

Remember: Do Multiplication or
Divide first before you do Addition or
Subtraction.

Example:
1. (Rule 1) 10x5÷2+10-3=?
50÷2+10-3=?
(Rule 2) 25+10-3=?
35-3=?
32

2. (Rule 1) 4+4x2=?
(Rule2) 4+8=?
12

3. (Rule 1) 12÷6-2+3=?
(Rule 2) 2-2+3=?
0+3=?
3

Did you understand our lesson?

Yes teacher.
D. Discussing new Directions: I have a ball, inside on it
concepts and there’s a jumbled letters to arrange and
practicing new form a word. You need to pass it by
skills #1 your classmate while playing the
music. Once the music stop, those pupil
hold the ball will be the one to open
and answer it.

1. ULMTPILIACOITN - _____
2. SOINDVII - _____
3. NOITIDDA - _____
4. UBSRATCIONT - _____

Indicator 1: Apply knowledge of

content within and across curriculum
teaching areas.

(English Integration – writing a word)

E. Discussing new Directions: Solve the following

concepts and equation in your paper after 3 minutes
practicing new in every item. All the papers are up!
skills #2
Understand? Yes teacher.

1. 8+2-4 ÷2x8=_____
2. 8-2+4x2 8=_____
(Learner centered activity)
I will group you into 2 groups. I have a
series of equation that you need to
solve in MDAS rules. Select one
member to present your output in front
F. Developing and every group prepare a yell.
Mastery (Leads to
formative Group 1- 12+13-4x5=?
Assessment)

Group 2- 26÷13x10-17=?

(Learner centered activity)

G. Finding practical Why do you think that we need to To easily solve the problem.
applications of follow the MDAS rules in solving
concepts and skills series of mathematical expression?
in daily living Multiplication, Division,
What does MDAS stand? Addition, and Subtraction.
H. Making How do we solve the equation? Teacher using 4 basic
generalization and operations in solving the
abstractions about equation.
the lesson
What are the 4 basic operations? The 4 basic operations are
Multiplication, Division,
Addition, and Subtraction
teacher.

None, teacher.
Do you have questions/clarifications?
Yes teacher.
Did you understand the lesson today?
