1. Taskin sir was discussing number system in ICT subject in the classroom. At one stage
of the class, Sir asked Rohan and kabir,”How many marks did you get in the ICT subject
in the 1st temporary exam?”Rohan said (105)8 and kabir said (4F)16 Mita sitting back
said Sir I got(100111)2 number
A. Convert the number obtained in meters to decimal.
B. Can the difference between the marks obtained by Sohail and Rohan be determined
by addition?

2. Sumi, Sumi's father and mother’s ages are (10)16 (100)8 and (2F)16 years respectively.
A. Convert Sumi's mother's age to octal number.
B. How many times is sumi’s father age in comparison with sumi’s.

3. The ICT teacher was teaching the number system in the class. A student was asked his
roll number and he replied (375)10. The teacher shows the student's roll number by
converting it to the 8 base number system. After knowing the student's last year roll
number (17C)16 , the teacher commented that his final exam results were good.

A. Convert the current roll number to the number system displayed by the teacher
B. Evaluate the teacher's comments by finding the difference between the two roll
numbers by addition.

1. Subtract the octal numbers 71.23 and 35.67 and represent the result in binary
form.
2. Subtract the hexadecimal numbers (C7)₁₆ and (3A)₁₆ and represent the sum in
octal form.
3. Perform the subtraction of the binary numbers (101111)₂ and (1101)₂ and express
the result in decimal.
4. A student's roll number is initially (27)₁₆. After the annual examination, the roll
number changes to (45)₁₀. Determine the change in the roll number.
5. Convert the HEXADECIMAL number 2F to its octal equivalent.
