How to enable students to think critically?

- Create a positive environment to allow students to feel safe to

question and reason with new and old technology
- Provide opportunities and time for students to evaluate and improve
their skills with technology by questioning how technology is used
- Inspire students to recreate old technology by innovation and putting
their own spin or “fix” on technology
Collaboration
Collaboration is the respectful and productive working together of students to
achieve a common goal. Technology aids in collaboration by enabling students
to:
- Work together on projects both digital and physical
- Interact with one another in a digital space
- Develop skills and thinking to interact with others in a technology
dependant world
- Be leaders
- Show respectful and responsible decision making and behavior
- Examples include: Google docs, Google slides, zoom etc…
Communication

Communication is how and what we are using as a tool to convey

information. Students and teachers should display empathy and respect
when communicating with others.

How can we use technology to foster effective communication?

- Moodle
- Subtitles, microphones, alter font sizes, etc.
- We can present information using a variety of methods such as with
pictures or words
Managing Information

Managing information elaborates on organization and using information in

certain situations. Students learn to access, expand, asses and share
information on a wide variety of platforms.

Examples:

- Moodle
- Google classroom
- Flipgrid
Problem Solving - Using strategies and resources to solve an unknown

How can we use technology to help learn problem solving skills?

-Consult others on the internet

-Competitive online games

-Utilize virtual simulations

-Learn how to work around technological issues

Personal Growth and Wellbeing
Guiding emotions, social life, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and
building healthy relationships with others and yourself to support growth

- Support the use of technology by teaching responsibility, managing public

and personal information, and security
- Allow students to have a space to ask questions about social media
- Identify strengths and weaknesses to allow students explore new
interests, in order to move forward to find success
Cultural and Global Citizenship
Cultural and global citizenship is engaging with our world to include diversity
and inclusivity to develop relationships with communities around us.

Using technology to support Culture and Global Citizenship:

-Can reach people in all parts of the world

-Can encourage inclusivity and diversity

-Opens students to the broader world around them

Creativity and Innovation
Creativity and innovation entails the students ability to apply concepts in new
ways, it describes their ingenuity, ability to take risks, and adapt.

How can we use technology to encourage creative thinking?

- Photoshop, Movie Maker, etc.

- Online Competitions, Challenges, etc.
- Freedom of choice
