This document provides information on how to manage menus and menu items in the MENU Manager section of the EdgeServ restaurant management software.  MENU Manager

 Creating a Menu first start with MENU EDITOR. Here you can create, what are meant to be the physical
menu’s within the restaurant (Ex: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Bar).


 MENU SETTINGS
Name: The name that shows in the BOH
 Readable Name for Guest: The name that shows in the online ordering
 Image: The navigable image for the MENU.
 Color: The color of the button for the MENU
 Priority: The order in which the MENU’s appear
 Type: General is for most menu’s, and To Go will place all of the items in the To Go section on the
Kitchen Chit.
 Revenue Center: The Revenue Center that sales from this menu are tracked within.
 Alphanumeric Order of the Menu Items: This will order the menu items within this MENU in
alphabetical order instead of their priority.
 Alphanumeric Order of the Modifiers: This will order the Modifier Items within this group to
Alphabetical Order.
 Search by Price: This will prevent the MENU from being displayed on the iPad, and instead the system
will use this MENU to determine the price of items in other MENU’s searching. This function is meant
for MENU’s like Happy Hour. If enabled, while active, the system will take the lower Happy Price
instead of the regular MENU item price.
 Subsystem Visibility: What available systems within Edgeserv the Menu will be visible.
o Terminal: The iPad
o Online: Online Ordering
o Digital Menu: The digital menu ordering app
o Dine-In: The dine-in ordering platform
o Pax Ordering: Pax ordering app
 Visible Time Intervals:

 This can be used to set the time that the MENU is active. Multiple time entries may be set for more
complex availability options.

MENU CATEGORY EDITOR


Create categories for your menu items likes.
 Name: The name that shows in the BOH
 Readable Name for Guest: The name that shows in platforms like Online Ordering or Dine In
 Parent: You can set this category to be a Sub-Category of an already existing CATEGORY. You can
only create one level of Sub Categories.
 Description: The description of the category.
 Image: The image of the category.
 Revenue Group: The Revenue Group that this category sales are tracked within.
 Color: The color of the button.
 Priority: The order in which this CATEGORY displays.
 Priority for Online: The order in which it displays for the Online Ordering and other platforms.
 Gift Card: Gift Card Will enable the Gift Card functionality.
 Visible Number of Rows and Columns: The number of buttons across the height and width of the
iPad for this CATEGORY.
 Assigned Printers: See printer assignments for more details.

MENU ITEM EDITOR

 Name: The name that shows in the BOH


 Readable Name for Guest: The name that shows in the online ordering
 Short Name: The name that shows on the iPad Button
 Kitchen Name: The name that displays on the kitchen ticket
 Image: The navigable image for the MENU.
 Background Image: Replaces the button with an image.
 Color: The color of the button for the MENU
 Priority: The order in which the MENU’s appears
 Courseline: The ordering course if you want pre-programmed courses.
 ToGo Tax Free: This will make the item tax free if ordered To Go
 Ask Price: The system will prompt for the price when ordered
 Ask Name: The system will ask for the name of the item when it is ordered.
 Tax Inclusive: The price of the tax is included in the price of the item.
 Assign Taxes: Which tax rates you wish to assign. If no tax rate is selected then this will default to the
revenue groups tax rate.
 Combo Item: This item will be part of a COMBO. See Combos later.
 Can be Sold Itself: Incase this item is part of a combo, you can uncheck to make it unsellable without
being in a combo.
 Priority for Online: Sets the order of display for online ordering.
 Measured Item: System will prompt for an amount, and multiple the price by the amount for the final
price.
 Measurement Unit: Enter in the unit of measure used.
 Cost: Tracking the cost of the item.
 Assigned Printers: This will default to the Category assignment if left blank. Only enter if you wish to
override the category assignment. See Printer Assignments.

MODIFIER ITEMS
Here you will enter in all of the individual modifier items for your menu.

 Along to top of a modifier item you can quickly jump to the different sections Modifier Groups, Sub
Modifier Groups, and Assigned Printers.
 Name: The name of the item
 Short Name: The name that shows up on the button for the iPad
 Kitchen Name: The name that shows on the kitchen ticket for the item.
 Online Name: The name that will show up when ordered online.
 Description: The description of the item.
 Flat Rate / Percent: If check the prices you set are a flat rate amount, if it is unchecked the prices are a
percentage of the Menu Item the Modifier is ordered from.
 Price: The price of the modifier item.
 If you are using the “Show No/Extra/Add/Sub/Side” option then you can prices in the NO, EXTRA, SIDE,
SUB, SIDE Fields
 Color: The color of the button on the iPad
 Images: The image used for the item.
 SKU: The sku of the item.
 Cost: The cost of the item.
 Revenue Group: The sales Revenue Group that the Modifier Item is tracked from.
