Fossil Fuels are essential for producing electricity, powering industry, and
fueling transportation. However, one day we will reach a point when all the
world’s fossil fuels have been depleted.
How can we conserve these resources?
What are some alternatives to fossil fuels?
Fossil fuel play a pivotal role around the globe for the production of energy
resources to benefit the industries and transportation, but there will be a time
when the world run out of it. This essay will discuss how we can help to prevent
our non-renewable energy from becoming depleted by using less cars and it will
name some natural forces which can be utilized/harnessed to generate power.
Conserving energy is an individual responsibility to deal with the emerging issue
of energy resources. To begin with, energy-efficient mode of transport is a
desirable solution. Riding a bicycle and using public transport for long routes will
definitely save the energy to some extent. Another appropriate solution is to
share the transport for the sake of reducing fuel consumption. For instance,
when meeting with friends if people ride a cycle to the nearby café then
ultimately fuel consumption will be automatically reduced. In short, small
intellectual decisions make big differences. Therefore, such beneficial practices
assist in reaching the goal of energy conservation.
The most sustainable alternative to fossil fuels are the production/generation of
natural power with the help of sun, wind and ocean. Solar and wind power are
widely used across the world, but it’s the wave power and tidal energy that is
expected to provide renewable energy in the future. For instance, recently it is
reported in the United Kingdom that tidal energy could meet as 20% of the UK’s
current electricity and wave energy converters are expected to prove equally
successful in the long-term.
In conclusion, the most suitable way to slow the rate of depletion is leaving the
private cars at home and using the energy-efficient transport whenever
necessary. In the meantime, the most significant step is to develop new
technologies that encourage renewable energy from the natural forces- sun,
wind and water.
