Wearing a School Uniform

School is a place where teachers give education to children all around the world. You’ve educated or
put that person in his or her place if you schooled someone (Vocabulary). Children can get an
education at school. Education is when people learn or study about life, society, and the world.
Education is the process of training man to reach their dreams by joining faculties to the fullest extent
as a member of society (Aristotle). One of the ways to increase students focus on studying is by using
uniforms. In my opinion, a uniform is an outfit that people use to work, school, and in an
organization. Uniform is a clothing worn by people in the same organization or children attending
schools (Oxford). There are some reasons why most schools give students uniforms. According to my
thinking, schools can keep them from bad behaviour and increase their focus on school by using
uniforms. The students are more well behaved, with fewer fights and more focus on school (Viadero
27–29). Uniforms also give students advantages; they can feel more equal with their friends and
decrease bullying in school. School uniforms promote equality and inclusivity by removing the
differences in dress that may exist between students from different economic backgrounds. When
people are using the same outfits,it decreases the pressure on students to wear expensive and trendy
clothing to fit in with their peers (School Wear United).

The benefits of school uniforms as I stated above, school uniforms decrease the probability of
bullying, and increase the respect between others and discipline of students. Uniforms can give a
effect on violence reduction and academic achievement, and can reduce the need for discipline
(Portner). Moreover, the students are more well behaved, with fewer fights and more focus on school
(Viadero 27–29). However, besides these advantages above there are still more of them, school
uniforms can make students more confident and feel equal with other students. Wearing school
uniforms can create a more respectful surroundings for studying and ease parents (Walmsley 63-66).
Uniforms also can be used as an identity on school and outside school. Since school is in charge of
student safety, it can help students from kidnappers and accidents. It also can be used to differentiate
students from each class level. As stated from Ayers in Edubirdie, it’s easier to identify people that
don’t belong on a school because they aren’t wearing the uniforms and will stick out. Furthermore,
School uniforms help locate students that belong in the school’s group when they get separated on
school trips, or they can also help identify students that are supposed to not be there during school
hours (Edubirdie).

School uniforms also have disadvantages, students can't express themselves by clothing, it'll make
them feel not free in school. Teenagers need to express their emotions and type in music, fashion and
art through clothing, hair and piercings. School can be tough for them (Josephson). Furthermore, self-
expression is important for children's development, noting that those who do not wear uniforms have
a better understanding of self-perception (Applebury). Uniforms are quite expensive, it could be a
burden for parents that are in a low economy to afford them. Giving a child school uniforms may be
more expensive for some parents to afford since buying regular clothes is cheaper than uniforms
(Josephson). Moreover, cost can be a negative effect on school uniforms because uniforms are not
used in outside of school, a lot of parents complain expensive cost of uniforms from their school
(Applebury).

Uniforms is important for students and school, it gives a lot of benefit for them. It can be as an
identity, equality, increase discipline, create a respectful environment, and many more. But it can also
gives disadvantages like can't gives off self-expression, uniforms are expensive, and etc. As what I
stated above, I agree that uniforms is important, and student all around the world must use uniforms
for school. Although student can't express themself in school, they can express themself outside
school. Because student don't go to school for a whole day or whole week, uniforms are only
temporary used. It'll also make a respectful environment by using proper clothes to school, and it can
increase equality and decrease bullying on school. Less trouble is created on school if uniforms are
used in most school.
