Print Styles

Print styles load default print settings and specify the model type, paper size, and pen table for a print job. Common print styles are Design_11x17, Design_18x24, and Design_8.5x11 for contract plans, which use the plans.tbl pen table and search any model in the file. The Design_Xsections style uses the eBIDSXsections.tbl pen table for cross sections legible for electronic bidding handoff. Sheet styles like Sheet_11x17 specify printing from sheet models at different paper sizes using the plans.tbl pen table. The ODOT_Defaults style does not affect print area, driver, or pen table.

Print Styles

Print Styles load a starting point for all of your print settings. If you are printing contract plans, you may
need to only apply a print style. The print style name specifies the type of model that contains the area
to be printed and the paper size. The plans.tbl pen table for contract plans is attached with each 11x17
or 8.5x11 “Design” or “Sheet” print style, except “Xsections”, and may be removed or changed in the
Print dialog or Print Organizer print definition properties to suit the purpose of the PDF. The “Xsections”
print styles attach the eBIDSXsections.tbl pen table for fine-line color PDFs. Because the 18x24 size is
typically used for survey products, the print styles for 18x24 both attach the Surv_RWM_BW.tbl pen
table. With the exception of ODOT_Defaults, every print style defaults to loading a PDF printer driver
configuration file in order to create digital prints.
To apply a Print Style, select the [Apply Print Style] button from the toolbar at the top of the Print
dialog. This opens a dialog with a drop-down list that allows you to select the Print Style for your print
job.
