3 INSTALLATION

The installation of SoMachine can be started from the USB Drive by starting the executable
Launcher.exe.

At first the SoMachine Configuration Manager will be installed and started.

After selecting your preferred language, you can select the kind of installation (selection of packages)

3.1 SoMachine Configuration Manager


The SoMachine Configuration Manager is a standalone tool that can be
started anytime to check/modify/uninstall SoMachine Software.

It is accessible from the Windows > Start > Programs > Schneider Electric > SoMachine Software >
SoMachine Configuration Manager.

3.2 Schneider Electric Software Update


The Schneider Electric Software Update is a standalone tool that allows you
to be notified at Schneider Electric software updates and finally download
and install them.
It is accessible from the Windows > Start > Programs > Schneider Electric > Software Update >

4 REGISTRATION AND LICENSING IN GENERAL

4.1 Create a Software Licensing Web Portal Account


Create a Web Portal Account to manage your Schneider Electric Software Licenses.

From this web page, go to: Login > Create new Schneider Electric Web User Account (Link)

The Web Portal Account brings you major benefits:

1. Permanent storage of your license Activation IDs.


2. All-in-one-place and permanent knowledge of: date of license activation, e-mail address of the
user who activated the license, remaining number of possible activations, remaining usage time in
case of a time-limited license.
3. Possibility to re-activate your license on this PC after a hard disk replacement or an upgrade of
the Windows operating system.
4. Possibility to move your license from this PC to another one in case of a PC replacement.

4.2 How to register SoMachine


After installing SoMachine, a trial period of 21 days starts. After it expires, you must register
SoMachine as described here:

To Activate By Web: Enter the email address used to create your Software License Portal
account and finally press next to activate SoMachine V4.

To activate By Phone: Call the Software Registration Center of your area and give the

code and finally press next again to activate SoMachine V4.

7. Your software is registered


By opening the License Manager tool (automatically installed on your computer with
SoMachine V4), you can see from now your registered software. Just start the License
Manager tool from the Windows program list.

4.3 License Manager
License manager is a standalone tool to manage many Schneider Electric Software
Licenses.

It is accessible from the Windows > Start > Programs > Schneider Electric > License Manager >
License Manager.

5 SQL GATEWAY
SQL gateway is a standalone tool to be installed on a windows PC (or virtual
machine). It has been introduced with SoMachine V4.2 and SoMachine
Motion V4.4.

It allows a SoMachine or SoMachine Motion controller (acting as an SQL client) to communicate to a


database.

5.1 Usage and Licensing of the SQL Gateway


One SQL gateway is required for one network. Each SQL Gateway can connect several controllers to
several databases within this network.

The purchasing of a license is required to use the SQL Gateway. Refer to the following product
reference inside the Schneider Electric catalog:

6 ETEST FRAMEWORK

6.1 What is ETEST?


ETEST is a powerful SoMachine Framework to Program IEC single unit tests to secure the testing and
non-regression of your application.

6.2 Licensing of the ETEST library

6.2.1 License purchasing


The purchasing of a license is required to use the ETEST framework. Refer to the following product
