ABSTRACT

Corona Virus, also known as CoVid-19, is a pandemic that impacts each

and every one of us who lives on our beautiful planet. The researchers picked
this issue because it is relevant to current events. This study aimed to determine
the lifestyles of maritime students at Lyceum of Iligan Foundation during this
pandemic. This study used a descriptive research method, with data collected by
self-administered survey procedures. The study's participants were 77 BSMT
students enrolled at Lyceum of Iligan Foundation during the school year 2021-
2022 second semester.

Respondents belonging to the age bracket of 21 – 23 years old, this

implies that most of the respondents are in their early 20s. While males
dominated the population at 99%, therefore the Bachelor of Science in Marine
Transportation is a male dominated course in LIF. Majority of the respondents
are second-year BSMT students at 53%. Majority of the respondents “strongly
agree” to a large extent that they concentrate well while studying as their habit
while studying, go to bed at a consistent time throughout the week, spent 1-2
hours a day doing household chores, drink water after eating snacks and read
the instructions carefully as part of their examination habit.

Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that the main lifestyle
of BSMT students during the pandemic are Hydration Habits and Examination
Habits. This means that the lifestyles of majority of the BSMT students have
practiced proper and adequate Hydration Habits and practiced what to do and
what to prepare during examination habitually and routinely. Moreover, the
researchers also concluded that the student’s lifestyle was affected by three
problems that were clearly evident: 1) Poor internet connection during study
hours; 2) Poor time management; 3) Electrical power shortage and
procrastination and manaña habit during study times.
