Function
function is a rule that maps a number to another unique number. The

input to the function is called the independent variable, and is also called

the argument of the function. The output of the function is called the

dependent variable.

A function is a rule that maps a number to another unique number. The

input to the function is called the independent variable, and is also called

the argument of the function. The output of the function is called the

dependent variable

Real life Function

Functions can be used in real-life situations when an inputted value

has a specific output value. For example, the distance a car has traveled

(the output) is dependent on how long that car has been driving (the
input)

Conclusion
The function of your paper's conclusion is to restate the main argument.

It reminds the reader of the strengths of your main argument(s) and

reiterates the most important evidence supporting those argument(s)

Examples
function is f(x) = x2. In this function, the function f(x) takes the value of “x”

and then squares it. For instance, if x = 3, then f(3) = 9. A few more

examples of functions are: f(x) = sin x, f(x) = x2 + 3, f(x) = 1/x, f(x) = 2x +

3,

Real life

Conclustion
The part of a conditional statement after then. For example, the conclusion of

"If a line is horizontal then the line has slope 0" is "the line has slope
Rational function
A rational function is one that can be written as a polynomial divided by a

polynomial. Since polynomials are defined everywhere, the domain of a

rational function is the set of all numbers except the zeros of the

denominator. Example 1. f(x) = x / (x - 3). The denominator has only one

zero, x = 3
Example
Any function of one variable, x, is called a rational function if, it can be

represented as f(x) = p(x)/q(x), where p(x) and q(x) are polynomials such

that q(x) ≠ 0. For example, f(x) = (x2 + x - 2) / (2x2 - 2x - 3) is a rational

function and here, 2x2 - 2x - 3 ≠ 0.

CONCLUSION
The form of a ration equal t 0.At least one vertical asymptote exists for

every rational functalo function equation is f(x) = P(x) / Q(x), where Q(x)

is notion. There is only one horizontal asymptote for any rational function.

There is only one slant asymptote for any rational function.

FUNCTION MACHINES

equation 3 j − 6 = 9 can be shown on a function machine by writing

out the functions that have been applied to in the order they
happened. BIDMAS means multiplications happen before
subtraction

Example
a function machine might add 2 to any number inputted. If a child inputs

the number 3, the machine will add 2 to 3, and the output will be 5.
CONCLUSION FUNCTION MACHINES

The function machine is a way of thinking about three aspects that

make up a function: the inputs, the outputs and the rule that
determines their connection (Figure 2). The representation as a
machine connects them in one diagram (just like seeing a toaster
makes you think of bread and toast).
Piecewise Function

A piecewise function is a function that is defined on a sequence of

intervals. A common example is the absolute value, Additional piecewise

functions include the Heaviside step function, rectangle function, and

triangle function.

Example

a piecewise function is the absolute value function. The absolute value

function can be written as f ( x ) = | x | . This function has three different

pieces, x for all values less than 1, x 2 for all values between 1 and 3

(including 1 and 3) and finally, x + 3 for all values greater than three.

Conclusion
piecewise functions is like graphing functions
on restricted domains. Restricted domains
limit the x-values which are defined for the
function. Piecewise functions can be
continuous or discontinuous. Piecewise
functions can be graphed in the following 3
ways: by hand, using an online calculator
such as Desmos, or using a TI calculator.
Operation Functions
What are the 4 operations on function?
Functions can be added, subtracted,
multiplied or divided. These are the four
operations that can be done to functions. Be
sure to follow the algebraic rules when
simplifying expressions.

Example
 Addition. We can add two functions as: (f + g)(x) = f(x)
+ g(x) Example: ...
 Subtraction. We can subtract two functions as: (f – g)
(x) = f(x) – g(x) Example: ...
 Multiplication. (f•g)(x) = f(x)•g(x) Example: f(x) = 3x – 5
and g(x) = x. ...
 Division. (f/g)(x) = f(x)/g(x) Example:
