    Directions: Read and understand the following sentences. Write T if the statement is true and write F is the
    statement is false.

    II. “JUDGE THE SOUND”


    Directions: Read the following arguments carefully. Write SOUND if the argument tells a sound reasoning and
    write UNSOUND if the argument tells an unsound reasoning.

    green cheese. Therefore, astronauts can eat moon rocks.
    _____________2. No bananas are purple in color. All fruits are bananas. Therefore, no fruits are purple in color.
    _____________3. All rabbits are mammals. All mammals have lungs. Therefore, all rabbits have lungs.
    _____________4. If a table is a rectangle, then it’s not a circle. Therefore, the table is a circle.
    _____________5. If Socrates was a philosopher, then he wasn’t a historian. Socrates wasn’t a historian. So,
    Socrates was a philosopher.
    _____________6. Some cats are reptiles. Bugs Bunny is a cat. So, Bugs Bunny is a reptile.
    _____________7. All dogs are green. Anything that is green is a fish. Therefore, all dogs are fish.
    _____________8. All ceilings are attached to walls. All doors are attached to walls. Therefore, all doors are ceilings.
    _____________9. All toasters are items made of gold. All items made of gold are time-travel devices. Therefore,
    all toasters are time-travel devices.
    _____________10. If Steve Jobs is poor, then he is not rich.
    _____________11. Studying too much for a test can often be confusing, for the reason that when you study too
    much, most of the important points no longer are clear.
    _____________12. Whenever I wear green socks my logic grade goes up. That is why I save my green socks to wear
    only on the days of the test.
    _____________13. How can we balance the budget, help our farmers, improve infrastructure, rebuild our military,
    and return to full employment? Only one way is clear: Vote Republican.
    _____________14. Nion cheated on his income tax, Anito cheated on his income tax, and, I’ve heard, so did Bush.
    I conclude that all politicians cheat on their income tax.
    _____________15. Children and mentally ill persons cannot vote. This state of affairs proves that in America not
    all are free, and few have the inalienable right of liberty.
