Check Compatibility before Deployment
Before deployment, check whether the OS to be installed is compatible by using xFusion Compatibility Checker.
If the OS is not in the compatibility list, submit an RM request for R&D tests in advance to ensure that the OS is
compatible and can be quickly installed.

OS Installation Method
Installation Method Description
Smart Provisioning is an OS installation wizard that simplifies the process for engineers to install OSs
and drivers.
This method requires iBMC 2.64 or later and BIOS 0.37 or later.
Using Smart
Smart Provisioning has the following features:
Provisioning
•Helps users install OSs and drivers required by the detected hardware.
•Provides a wizard to make installation processes more simple and consistent.
•Simplifies and speeds up OS deployment on servers.
If a server is configured with RAID controller cards, you can load the RAID controller card drivers to
install the OS and the drivers at the same time.
You can use a virtual DVD drive to load an ISO driver image, or use a virtual floppy drive to load an

controller card driver
•Loading an ISO driver image: You can use a virtual DVD-ROM drive to switch between the OS image
file and the RAID controller card driver image file.
•Loading an IMG driver image: You can directly load the driver.
This installation method applies only to VMware ESXi OSs. The drivers required by the OS installation

Installing an OS Using Smart Provisioning
Before installing the operating system using Smart Provisioning, make the
following preparations:
Obtain the OS installation DVD-ROM or image file.
◼ Click the path where the required version is stored and download the Smart Provisioning
image file. The file name is in the format of SmartProvisioning-x.x.x.x.zip (x.x.x.x indicates
the SmartProvisioning version).

PXE (Preboot Execution Environment )
⚫ is a remote computer boot technology that enables the computer to be booted over the
network
⚫ The PXE client obtains an IP address from the DHCP server and downloads the remote
operating system to the local host through TFTP
⚫ To install the operating system through PXE, you need to install only one or more servers and
set the other servers to PXE boot mode
⚫ Installation procedure: Connect one end of the network cable to the NIC1 port and the other
end to the server to ensure that the two ends can communicate with each other
