Giving and Asking for

Information

Definition

 The definition is our expressions to ask questions or to ask

about explanations from what we said to someone else, so we


get information from it.

 Definition of ask is to say or write something to someone as a

way of gaining information; to request an answer to a


question.
Asking for Information

Simple question structure:

WH? + Auxiliary Verb + Subject + Verb

Examples:
• What is the function of this tool?
• Who is your new manager?
• Where can I buy it?
• When does the semester begin?
• Why does the train stop here?
• How is the process of making this cake?
Expressions
Asking for Information Giving Information

 Can you tell me ………………………….?  What would you like to know?


 Do you know ……………………………..?  Of course I can.
