The first black president of the United States

Barack Hussein Obama II was born in 1961 and he is an

American politician, author, and retired attorney who was
the 44th president of the USA.

Obama was born to an afro american father and a british

mother in Honolulu. He studied Anthropology (Scientific
study of humanity) at Punahou School. (Which is a
prestigious school in Hawaii) Then he transferred to
Columbia University to study political science with a
specialty in international relations and English literature.

After graduating from Columbia University as an

undergrad, Obama worked in the business sector for two
years. He moved to Chicago in 1985, where he worked on
the South Side as a community organizer for low-income
residents in the Roseland. Obama entered Harvard Law
School in 1988. The next year, he met with constitutional
law professor Laurence Tribe. Their discussion impressed
Tribe, that when Obama asked the professor to join his
team as a research assistant, the professor agreed. In
February 1990, Obama was elected the first African
American editor of the Harvard Law Review.
“The better he did at Harvard Law School and the more he
impressed people, the more obvious it became that he
could have had anything, but it was clear that he wanted
to make a difference to people, to communities,” said
Professor Tribe.
Then it was crystal clear to Obama that he should run to
politics so After completing his degree, Obama moved to
Chicago and became active in the Democratic Party,
crediting him with success in the "Project Vote," in which
he organized the registration of tens of thousands of black
voters ahead of the election. The project contributed to Bill
Clinton's victory in the state of Illinois in the United States
presidential election, and the victory of Carol Moseley
Brown in the Senate election. But this wasn't enough, he
wanted to change things to the highest level he could, he
wanted to be the president.

One of the challenges that Obama faced was to run for

the presidency against John McCain. He had a very harsh
competition against him because McCain was an
American politician, statesman, and United States Navy
officer who served as the United States Senator for
Arizona from 1987 until he died in 2018. McCain served
two terms in the United States House of Representatives
which made it difficult for Obama to get selected because
the people already admired McCain.

Another challenge Obama had faced was the fact that he

is an afro-american man. The founder of the very
antisemitic and racist movement, that many people in
southern United States had listened to, advocates the
superiority of the white race Knights of the Ku Klux Klan
and its leader Ron Edwards was quoted during 2008 as
supporting John McCain.

Barack Obama had done many things during his

presidency but the main things he had done were to help
uninsured children’s health care. Obama ended the
military presence in Iraq - After he officially became
president, Obama removed American forces from Iraqi
cities to their main bases, most of the forces left Iraq on
August 19, 2010. In October 2011, Obama announced
that all remaining forces in Iraq would leave Until
December of that year. He handled the global financial
crisis (2007-2008). He started the military operation that
ended by killing Bin-Laden. (He was the terrorist who
planed the attack in 9/11). He took steps to combat
climate change. and he enabled service of the LGBT in
the army (cancellation of policy Do not ask, do not
tell). He wrote three books and In his first year as
president, Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen
international diplomacy and cooperation between
peoples.".

Today Barack is living in Washington with his wife

Michelle and his two daughters Malia and Natasha. What
makes Barack Obama special to us is that, unlike the
many presidents who preceded him, he cared about what
is best for the greater good. He truly does represent The
People.

His actions have always been motivated by an honest

desire to do what is best for the majority, even if it meant
losing ground with the wealthy, influential, or powerful
minority. He is a role model to all of us and he represents
the good of the American people.
