Chapter 5

The document summarizes the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of a study about developing a web-based event management system for a church due to pandemic restrictions. The study found that gathering client data and disintegrating records were common problems in the manual system. The developed system addressed these issues and was rated as highly acceptable in functionality, security, and speed. Based on the findings, the researchers concluded the system improves the reservation process while reducing crowds. They recommended adopting the development model used and conducting further studies to validate and improve the system.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter summarizes the summary, findings, conclusions, and recommendation.

Summary
Due to the pandemic, certain prohibitions were implemented to different

establishments like church. Because of this, people were limited to enter the church to book their

selected events. The problems encountered involves the use of manual process such as

registration, guest book, records book, reservations, reports and other source of information

about clients and the management. In connection with this, this study, generally, this study aims to

develop a web-based management system for scheduling of events in St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church.

It specifically aimed to determine the frequency of the problems encountered regarding in the

management of scheduling of events involving the document management, determine the problems

encountered in the management in the scheduling of events, develop the modules such as the manual

process for reservation of events and event schedule and recording of enlisted events. To evaluate the

performance of the developed web-based reservation and management system based on ISO 25010 in

terms Functional Suitability and Security.

The study includes the automated process of scheduling of events in St. Francis of Assisi Parish

Church to improve interaction of the client’s information and the management regarding the scheduling

of events. Through online reservation of events, it will lessen the amount of people inquiring personally

in the establishment and prevent the spread of the virus within the vicinity. The privacy of the clients are

secured in the process of reservation such that unnecessary information are not asked or required. The

management or the staff in the scheduling of events in the church has only the capability to access the

information of the clients and no part of a certain information is lost or leaked. This system contains five

modules: Account Management, Event Scheduling, Notification, Certification and Generation of Reports.
The proponents applied the mixture of different research design in the study. Anchored from the

general and specific objectives of this study, the researchers will employ qualitative and quantitative

research design. The respondents were the client of those inquiring events, complete enumeration was

used after collection of the data through a survey questionnaire, analysis was done used frequency

percentage, and weighted mean. This study used Extreme Programming as a guide to ensure the success

of the project.

Findings

Based from the analysis of the gathered data, the following findings were built:

1. Majority of the respondents (60%) says that gathering and recovering of data of the clients

are often encountered, 20% said that disintegration of the results and records are rarely

encountered, manual operation of EMS is moderately acceptable (60%), (45%) said that the

efficiency and performance of the system are often encountered and (50%) said that the

dependability of the system is often encountered.

2. Development of system modules which includes account management, event

scheduling, notification, certification and generation of reports was successfully done

through the guide of Extreme programming of system development. The researchers

PHP as a programming language and MySQL as the database.

3. In terms of level of acceptability, the developed system was rated by the respondents

with Highly Acceptable with weighted mean of 4.2 for Functionality; weighted mean

4.1 for security; weighted mean of 4.5 for Speed.

Conclusions

Based from the findings, the researchers came up with the following conclusions:

1. Due to the pandemic and the restrictions made by government officials and health officials,

this event management system will help to improve the process of reservation events and can

also lessen the capacity of the people involved.

2. System development therefore can be effectively done following Extreme

Programming Model of Development for systems such as Document Repository.

Further, PHP Programming Language and MySQL capabilities and features are

compatible on building the modules of Document Repository system such as:

Registration, Reservation, Event Schedule, and Admin and generating report.

3. With an overall rating of Moderately Acceptable in terms of Usability, Reliability, Functional

Suitability, Performance Efficiency, the developed system therefore meets the functional,

speed and security requirements of ISO 25010.

Recommendations

Based from the aforementioned conclusions, the researchers arrived with the following

recommendations:

1. Future researchers and developers may adopt the Extreme Programming Model for

management system.

2. Future researchers may conduct a parallel study in other relevant research environment to

further validate the results on the frequency of problems encountered in terms of resort

management.

3. Future researchers and developers may conduct to improve the design using other

platforms to improve the interface.

4. Future researchers and developers may add the announcement for the other concern.
