Dear Program Director,

It is my pleasure to write in strong support of Johnathan Jones’ internal medicine

residency application. As an
internist and clinical faculty member at the Match A Resident Medical Center, my
responsibilities include
working with students in a clinical capacity. In 20XX, Johnathan completed his
internal medicine rotation
under my supervision. During our initial conversations, he displayed a level of
confidence and dedication that
set him apart from other students in his cohort. As his rotation progressed, I was
impressed with Johnathan’s
exemplary performance and found him to be an attentive clinician with a strong
dedication to patient care.

During his rotation, Johnathan demonstrated a keen interest in learning about

internal medicine. I observed him
taking detailed patient histories, expressing genuine concern regarding patients’
symptoms, and consistently
taking a holistic approach. He also involved patients’ family members and managed
their expectations well. I
was most impressed by Johnathan’s determination to build trust with patients and
found that patients’
well-being was his number one priority. He has a humble and unassuming character,
which was well-received
y patients and staff alike.

Beyond direct patient care, Johnathan excelled in the diagnostic aspects of his
rotation. His clinical notes were
ighly detailed, and he gave a compelling clinical explanation on the importance of
foot care and nutrition to
an elderly diabetic patient. He also interpreted abnormal lab studies including
lipid profiles and urinalyses,
subsequently developing a solid list of differential diagnoses, informed treatment
recommendations, and
ollow-up lab studies.

Collaboration and teamwork are important aspects of internal medicine, and

Johnathan showed that he
possessed the ability to both lead and support his colleagues. Furthermore, he
demonstrated versatile
communication skills with patients and peers and got along well with nurses as well
as medical and
administrative staff. Overall, I found Johnathan professional, an eager learner,
and very receptive to
constructive criticism, which is a wonderful combination of traits that will help
him succeed in an internal
medicine residency.

I urge you to seriously consider Johnathan Jones’ internal medicine residency

application. He is a strong
candidate in all regards and easily one of the top 5 students I have worked with in
the last 10 years. He is
meticulous in his work, takes responsibility for his actions, and would certainly
be a valuable team member. I
believe Johnathan has the potential to be a competent internist who is able to earn
the trust and respect of his
patients and colleagues. I highly recommend him without any reservations.

If you have any questions or would like to speak about Johnathan in greater detail,
please do not hesitate to
contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Janelle Cooper
