SMARTBOX Revise Final Paper Requirement

This document describes the SMARTBOX system, an Arduino-based security system using RFID and keypad authentication. The SMARTBOX is designed to securely store personal items in a rugged enclosure. It uses an Arduino UNO board to run code for two-factor authentication via RFID card and password keypad input. If both credentials are validated, a magnet lock system unlocks to open the box. The system aims to provide systematic, multi-attribute security for access control through its Arduino-based design.

D. Project/Research Design
To achieve those ideas, researchers are planning carefully
to implement those steps and create a reasonable outcome.
They conduct various experiments and designs required for
systematic processes. Experiment Design is a methodology
that explores the different ways to optimize or create a new
design.
Figure 1. Arduino IDE
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based
on easy-to-use hardware and software. Through sending a
set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board, it
will do the set of instructions. It has been used in
thousands of different projects and applications. It is easy
to use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced
users. The Arduino offers advantages for users such as:
 Inexpensive
 Cross-platform
 Simple, clear programming environment. It is
easy to use for beginners.
 Open source and extensible software
Figure 4. Block Diagram of the System
As shown in the figure above, the power supply will
power up the Arduino Uno. Arduino Uno serves as
microcontroller or center in the process that reads input,
processes it, and sends output, it also serves as a power
source for other hardware components connected. The servo
motor acted as a door lock.
Figure 5 shows the design project view, which mostly
shows some components in put in the door, like an I2C LCD,

door where they interact with the user. And in the back of the
door, the Arduino UNO and servo motor are found and Figure 7. Initial Condition (Starting)

After scanning the RFID card or tag, there are two
possible scenarios described in Figures 8 and 9. In the first
scenario, the RFID card or tag matches and reminds that

which can proceed to the next step, as illustrated in Figure

IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

A. Results and Discussion

The figure shown below is the actual presentation of the Figure 9. Denying of ID/tag when it does not match
project (SMARTBOX). The next step after that first scenario stated before was
for the user to enter the password or pin. Then when it
matches, the same thing happens as in the first case, but this
time the Buzzer plays a musical tone and the door unlocks
as illustrated below.

There are several features that can be added or improved

After that, back to where it started as illustrated in Figure added to add more layers of security and monitoring.
12. Finally, taking the discussions and results above into
consideration, the project might benefit from some newer
digital technologies like iris or rental scanning, and voice
identification to authorize the users. In that way, this smart
box will be able to provide more advanced and faster-
accessible security with an easy-to-use safe box that can be
applied to either home doors or gates.
