When creating training programs, training designers and developers follow five broad
activities—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—called ADDIE.

What are the target audience’s performance gaps? Or what is the knowledge problem?
Is the performance gap indeed a problem that could be solved with a training (online or
classroom)?
What evaluation methods are you going to use? What resources are available?
What elements will you include in your course? Examples: text, animation, graphics,
video, multimedia elements, resources, etc.
What assessment plan are you putting in place to demonstrate how learners will be
tested?

What would be the most appropriate way to collect feedback (survey, email, or other
media) to validate content accuracy and completeness, teaching methods, and
communication approach?
What is the most appropriate way to evaluate reaction to the training and learners’
ability to attain the learning objectives?
What do you need in order to review and analyse feedback from learners on their
satisfaction and immediate reactions and analyse results achieved on learning?
What would be the most appropriate way to measure the long-term changes in
learners’ behaviours?
What would be the most appropriate way to measure the return on investment from the
online course?
