DAY 1

On the originally scheduled date of September 25, 2023, which happened to be

a Monday, everyone at the St. Vincent College of Cabuyao (SVCC) was eagerly

looking forward to the Intramurals 2023 celebration. However, our excitement

quickly turned into disappointment as the event had to be postponed due to

unforeseen circumstances. The reason for this unexpected delay was the suspension of

all activities because of the looming threat of volcanic smog from Taal Volcano.

In a Facebook post on the school's page, the caption read: "#WalangPasok:

Office Transaction and Classes for Monday, September 25, 2023 has been suspended

due to the volcanic smog from Taal Volcano. Keep safe everyone #SVCCAdvisory

#SVCC."

The eruption of Taal Volcano on September 25, 2023, had a significant impact

on our planned festivities, leading us to suspend all activities to prioritize the safety of
ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO
Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

students, participants, staff, and attendees due to the health risks posed by the volcanic

smog, also known as "vog," which made outdoor gatherings impossible.

Consequently, we had to reschedule Intramurals 2023 to the following day, which,

although disappointing, served as a reminder of the importance of adaptability when

confronted with unexpected challenges.

This unforeseen situation highlighted the unpredictable nature of the

environment and the need to prioritize safety during the organization of large events.

It also demonstrated the determination of organizers and participants who quickly

adjusted to the new schedule, ensuring that the spirit of Intramurals 2023 remained

strong despite the obstacles caused by Taal Volcano's volcanic smog.

DAY 4

On September 28, 2023, which falls on a Thursday, we'll witness the much-

anticipated Mass Zumba and Cheerdance Competition at our school. In the morning,

the Zumba Competition is about to start but before that, the students from all

departments are geared up to compete and show their skills. Hosts Hanna Trinquite

and Megryan Mendoza greet the crowd with an energetic, "Hello, Vincentians!"

In every corner of the Open Gym, students are shouting their chants, holding

balloons high in the air, and waving banners with joy and excitement. Before

commencing the Mass Zumba Competition, the hosts introduced the Panel of Judges

responsible for evaluating all the performers from each department. They introduced

the judges in the following order: Shiela Mae R. Castillo, May Ann D. Corral, and

Amie P. Borja.
ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO
Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

The first performers in the Mass Zumba Competition are the Zumba dancers

from the College of Information Technology, known as BSIT (Bachelor of Science in

Information Technology). As they make their way to their formations, their fellow

“Wizards” are yelling their chant, "B-S-I-T! MABANGO! MABANGO!" This chant

is their way of hyping up the performers. When the music starts, the dancers

immediately begin their routine, wearing t-shirts under their jerseys and matching

white headbands. They dance to a remix of popular songs, including "Baile," "Bongga

ka Day," and various TikTok trends, such as "LDR" by Shoti and "Daleng Dale" by

MMJ.
ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO
Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

Up next are the students from our College of Education, and they're absolutely

pumped and ready to rock the stage. As they make their way to their formations, you

can feel the energy in the air. They kick off their performance with everyone wearing

matching blue shirts and colorful wigs, and they include hula hoops, adding an extra

layer of excitement to their act.

The heart of their performance lies in their selection of songs, which includes

a remix featuring the iconic theme song of Voltes V, as well as many other crowd-

pleasing tunes. What's even cooler is that there's one of the performers on the mic,

continuously hyping and motivating not only the dancers but also the participants and

the awesome crowd.

The third performer, who represents the College of Hospitality Management,

BSHM (Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management), chose a theme that revolves

around the 90s generation. They're dressed in polos and jackets with matching scarves

used as headbands. In the first part of their performance, they presented a skit

featuring a group of friends discussing the 90s generation. They swiftly employed a

giant remote control to switch on a large TV that serves as their props. On this

oversized screen, dancers showcased their moves to 90s music. They came out of the
ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO
Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

screen and they danced all together. They grooved to iconic 90s music like "Rock

Baby Rock," "Bongga Ka Day," "Sumayaw Sumunod," and more. Towards the middle

and end of their performance, some of the boys wore jackets reminiscent of 90s

heartthrobs. Finally, they wrapped up their act by revisiting their initial skit,

portraying a group of friends watching the giant TV once again.

The next set of performers hails from the College of Accountancy, showcasing

their incredible talent in the field of BSA/IS (Bachelor of Science in Accounting

Information System). These talented individuals have creatively put together DIY

outfits, wearing a vibrant purple sando shirts, and they've added a charming touch

with ribbons adorning their heads and hands.

Their performance was nothing short of spectacular, as they took the stage by

storm with an electrifying rendition of the classic Zumba remix. Their dance routine

included a medley of songs, such as the iconic "Totoy Bibo" by the talented Vhong

Navarro, along with a other hits. The energy and enthusiasm they infused into their

performance was nothing short of contagious, and the audience was treated to a visual

and auditory feast.

ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO

received from their fellow students in the College of Accountancy. The palpable

camaraderie and encouragement from the crowd added an extra layer of excitement

and unity to their show, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and impressed.

The next and fifth performers are from the Bachelor of Science in Business

Administration (BSBA) program. They began their performance with a lively warm-

up, dressed in tie-dye shirts featuring a mix of green, blue, and yellow hues, giving off

a vibrant vibe. Their act was skillfully choreographed to a remix of well-known

tracks, such as "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Footloose," among others, which

brought diversity and depth to their routine. Displaying their inventiveness, the

students ingeniously integrated plastic bottles into their performance, using them as

props to enhance their routine. This inventive use of props added an element of

surprise and distinctiveness to their act, effectively captivating the audience

throughout.

Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

Next on the stage, we have the "Sikolohistas," a group of performers from the

Bachelor of Science in Psychology. These talented individuals are about to showcase

their dancing skills, focusing on Rihanna's most famous songs, particularly those she

performed during the Super Bowl in 2023.

As the "Sikolohistas" get ready to perform, their fellow PsychMates are

creating an energetic atmosphere by loudly cheering them on. The support from their

psychology community is palpable and serves as a motivating backdrop for the

performers.

In terms of their outfits, the "Sikolohistas" have opted for a stylish look. They

are wearing white shirts with black long sleeves underneath, paired with black pants.

To add a unique touch to their performance, each member is using a vibrant green

scarf as a prop, adding a visual element to their routine. The audience was treated to

an unforgettable fusion of psychology and artistry, making the "Sikolohistas" a

highlight of the morning's entertainment.

executed with boundless enthusiasm. Dressed in vibrant purple shirts and white shorts

adorned with eye-catching pompom skirts in yellow and blue, they exuded a lively

songs, including hits like "Buttercup" and "Mamma Mia," leaving the audience

thoroughly entertained.

In the afternoon, once everyone has finished their lunch, the Cheerdance

Competition will finally kick off. All the participants are assembling in their

designated spots within the open gym. Before the competition starts, each department

showcases their skills to the other departments, demonstrating impressive moves like

splits, body drops, and other eye-catching maneuvers.

A new pair of hosts, Jheraldine Carriedo and Chard Aryl Angeles, said hi to

everyone and then introduced themselves. They also introduced the judges for the

Cheerdance Competition: Rosanna S. Macalalad, who finished her degree in BSEd

Major in Filipino from Pamantasan ng Cabuyao; Evangeline Clemeña, who graduated

from St. Vincent College of Cabuyao with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Physical

Education; and Cristine Delos Santos. These judges are assigned to watch the

performances, critic the performers, and decide the who are the winners fairly.

The first performers are from the College of Accountancy, majoring in BSA/IS

(Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System). They were dressed in

cropped black shirts with white shirts or sando underneath. Additionally, they added a

purple piece of cloth to their waist to introduce some color to their costumes. The

performers were full of energy as they were being cheered on by their fellow students.

The next performers are from the College of Education, and their performance

has a vibrant jungle theme. They are dressed in animal-printed clothing, and their hair

is styled to resemble that of a jungle explorer. During their act, they executed a variety

of stunts, including splits and body drops. Additionally, one performer even

impressively lifted his leg to captivate both the judges and the audience.
ST. VINCENT COLLEGE OF CABUYAO
Mamatid Rd, Cabuyao, 4025 Laguna

As part of their performance, they incorporated props, including animal-

painted stairs that were utilized creatively. At one point, they had a surprising reveal

in which they opened their animal-printed vests, revealing another layer of animal-

printed fabric, but in brighter colors. In the end of their performance, we saw them

embodying the spirit of a tiger, bringing their jungle-themed act to a thrilling

conclusion.

The next performers are the students of the Bachelor of Science in Information

Technology (BSIT) program. They have chosen not to show a specific theme for their

performance, as they aim to showcase their versatility. They are all dressed in gray

long-sleeved shirts with the word "BSIT" printed on them.

During the middle of their performance, they presented their unique take on

the iconic "Human Tinikling" dance. Instead of using bamboo sticks, they

demonstrated their creativity by performing the Tinikling solely with their bodies. The

conclusion of their performance was marked by an impressive split performed by one

of the dancers in the center, while two others executed a coordinated body drop on the

sides.

The next performer is from the College of Criminal Justice, where the BS

The seventh performers are from the Bachelor of Science in Tourism

Management (BSTM) program. They exude enthusiasm and energy as they make

pompoms in shades of silver and purple.
