KMO and Bartlett's Test
KMO and Bartlett's Test
df 253
Sig. .000
Based on the outcome of our analysis, we obtained a KMO value of .887. It suggests a
significant amount of shared information among the variables or a strong partial correlation.
Therefore, it is reasonable to proceed with conducting factor analysis.
The null hypothesis for Bartlett's test of sphericity is that a correlation matrix is an identity
matrix, indicating sphericity. In this case it is significant, Chi-square value (6913.697 & p =
0.000) which is less than 0.05 thus we reject the null hypothesis It indicates that the sphericity
assumption has been violated. In other words it suggests that the correlation matrix is appropriate
for factor analysis because the variables show high covariance
Communalities
Initial Extraction
Commonalities all of them are good there is greater than 0.5, so we will go with Kaisers criteria
and the total variance explained from these 4 factors , so this will be a three factor solution the
cumulative percentage 79.733%, which is good. However, the sample size is greater than 200 i.e.
n=232, we will use scree plot.
As we conducted Varimax oblique rotation twe will check the table labelled Pattern Matrix.
Component
1 2 3 4
The above table shows Rotated Component Matrix. For each variable, note the factor/component for
which the variable has the highest loading is above .4 when we ignore the plus or minus sign.it shows
what the 4 factors represent by looking for common themes in the items that load on them.
Component 1 2 3 4
Based on SPSS analysis, five factors have been extracted using Kaiser's criterion, which suggests
retaining factors with eigenvalues exceeding 1. However, the appropriateness of this decision should be
evaluated. Kaiser's criterion is generally accurate when the number of variables is less than 30, and the
communalities after extraction are greater than 0.7. In this case, the dataset comprises 232 samples and
22 variables, indicating that extracting five factors might not be justified. Examining the scree plot
reveals that there are point of inflexion at 3 and 4 factors, suggesting that extracting 3 or 4 factors would
be more reasonable based on the scree plot analysis.

Cronbach’s Alpha
The table below shows that there are 232 cases in this test and none is deleted, so that’s useful to know
and a reliability statistic shows that number of items are 23 and Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.783. The first
thing is value is positive and second the value is close to 1 this means that data is reliable. According to
Kline (1999), if the value is greater than 0.70 the reliable the data is.
