Activity 1. It is important as a future criminologist to possess the qualities of good a
technical writer. In relation to this, you are required to perform given tasks based on a
news article provided below.
1. Formulate at least 2 questions from the article in each of the 5Ws and 1H. The
question formulated must a have a well-sounded connection for you to write a
police report.
A. WHAT
 What happened between military operatives and a wanted high-ranking official of
the NPA in Legazpi City that resulted in the assassination of the individual?
 What did the military operatives recover from the suspect at the scene?
B. WHEN
 When did the operation that was being carried out by the military operatives take
place?
 When did the military operatives first begin to keep an eye on the suspect before
making an attempt to take him into custody?
C. WHERE
 Where exactly did the criminal suspect end up being shot and killed?
 Where was the military operation that was carried out taken place?
D. WHO
 Who was killed in the shootout that took place in Albay during the operation that

CLARITY
- The information is presented in a way that is easy to understand, which makes
the article more accessible to its audience. As a reader, it is a big aid in
assessing what actually occurred, and it also offers a clear flow of the event. The
purpose of the article is already stated in the initial portion of the article, and that
part says what the piece is all about. This article has the characteristic of clarity
as a result of the content being backed with additional facts and examples that
were provided in the article.
ACCURACY
- An article presented discusses the incident in a logical and sequential order. The
information that is presented in the article demonstrates that it is accurate. It was
indicated in the article that the suspect is already involved in a case, and the
mere consideration of this fact is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that it is
appropriate for him to be arrested. In addition, there were items that were taken
into custody at the site, which provides further evidence that the information
provided in the article is accurate.
BREVITY
- The author of the article ensures to keep the essay as brief and direct to the point
as possible, which assists the reader in finding it easy to read. It offers
information that is brief and concise, which makes it much simpler to
comprehend. The article offers sufficient details for its audience and avoids using
words that are overly complicated and hence likely to cause them confusion.
FAIRNESS
- The author ensured that there was no indication of partiality in the content of the
article. The author takes care to convey facts from all parties, detailing what truly
took place before, during, and after the shootout, as well as the circumstances
that led to the violence that ensued. The article displays a commitment to
objectivity and makes every effort to provide the reader with all of the pertinent
