ClearQuest® Integration
The purpose of this Laboratory is to review the materials covered in Module 13. By
answering these questions, you will be reminded of some of the key points about
integrating Rational® ClearQuest® with:
 Rational® Unified Change Management (UCM)
 Rational® ClearCase® (CC)
 Rational® Visual Source Safe (VSS)

Objectives

By answering the review questions in this exercise, you will:

 Identify the steps required to configure UCM/CQ, CC/CQ, and VSS/CQ.

 Describe the basic functionality of the UCM/CQ, CC/CQ, and VSS/CQ.

Exercise 13.1: Answer the following questions:

1. In the UCM/CQ integration, which level of UCM objects must be ClearQuest-


enabled?

2. True or False: You can use both the UCM/CQ integration and the CC/CQ
integration in the same project.

2. False. At the project level, you can only select either UCM/CQ or CC/CQ, but not
both.

4. Starting from ClearCase Version 4.0 and ClearQuest Version 2.0, UCM/CQ
integration is supported.

5. False. Any single ClearQuest schema can have either the CC/CQ integration or the
VSS/CQ integration, but never both.

7. Update is a one-way transfer of data from ClearQuest to Microsoft Project 2000.


Synchronize is a two-way transfer of information, with updates flowing first from
the ClearQuest database to the project plan and then from the project plan back to
the ClearQuest database.
