PRE-TEST
A. Reviewing previous
lesson or presenting the Motivation
new lesson * The teacher will present pictures of tools and equipment in technical drafting and let the students identify/give the name of
the pictures.
7.
* The teacher allows the learners to observe the picture posted on the TV Screen/Board and let them describe the
picture.
1. What have you observe/say on the different pictures?
2. When and where can we usually use these tools?
3.
B. Establishing a purpose * The teacher presents the objectives by allowing learners to read it.
for the lesson 1. Identify hand tools and Equipment used in technical drafting,
2. Draw and write the function of hand tools and equipment in technical drafting,
3. Appreciate the value of knowing the different tools and equipment in technical drafting according to function and task
requirement.
* The teacher gives further inputs to emphasize the learning goals that students will achieve at the end of the lesson.
* After reading the objectives, the teacher asks if the learners are ready for the lessons and the activities.
C. Presenting examples/ What’s New
Instances of the new Directions: Complete the table. Define and draw the different tools and equipment used in technical drafting.

TOOLS - EQUIPMENT -
● After the preliminary activity, the teacher proceeds to the differentiated tasking. The teacher gives instructions to guide
learners of the tasks.
● The learners gather by group in a designated area.
● Each group are given the envelop with materials needed for the activity.
TUESDAY
Note: Conduct review on the previous activities and outputs of the learners. Present the objectives Knowledge and Skill.
Presentation of outputs.
D. Discussing new
concepts and practicing Learning Objectives:
new skills #1 ● Identify hand tools and Equipment used in technical drafting,
ANALYSIS ● Draw and write the function of hand tools and equipment in technical drafting,
● The teacher will ask a series of questions based on the previous outputs of the learner.
1. Based on the different picture posted on the previous activity, how will you define Hand tools in technical drafting?
2. How about the Equipment in technical drafting?
3. Who can enumerate the different hand tools used for technical drafting?
4. Give me some examples of Equipment used in technical drafting?
5. What is the function of a pencil and ruler?
6. How about the function of drawing paper and drawing table?
7. Is it necessary for us to know the tools and equipment used for technical drafting?
8. Why do we need to know the function of hand tools and equipment and its difference?
9. Thus, knowing the hand tools and equipment as well as their function will help us do the task in technical drafting? How?
WEDNESDAY
Note: Conduct review on the previous discussion and present the objectives Knowledge and Skill.
8. Continuation of Learning Objectives:
discussion of new ● Identify hand tools and Equipment used in technical drafting,
concepts leading to ● Draw and write the function of hand tools and equipment in technical drafting,
formative assessment
• The teacher provides the power point presentation where leaners can scan a copy of the lesson to avoid distraction while the teacher is
ABSTRACTION discussing.
DRAWING EQUIPMENT
1. T-Square - Drawing equipment used to draw horizontal lines. Additionally, it can be used for guiding triangles in drawing vertical lines. It
is made from wood, plastic, or a mix of each.
Types of T-squares:
b. Fixed Head - the top is mounted to the blade. This type of T-square is used for normal work.
b. Movable Head or Adjustable Head - the top is adjustable and used just for occasional drawing.
c. Detachable Head or Removable Head -designed for comfort in carrying the drafting instrument.
2. Triangle - A three-sided ruler that has usually two equal sides with a 90-degree angle and its third side is at 30, 45, or 60-
degree angle. Made of plastic and comes in numerous sizes.
Commonly used triangles are:
a) 30x60 degrees
b) 45x45 degree
3. Compass - Drawing arcs and circles is easier to draw when using this equipment. It is identical to a divider; however, the
compass has a pen leg and a needlepoint on another leg bind with a handle. This drawing instrument is used for
penciling and inking.
4. Divider - Drawing equipment used to transfer measurements, dividing lines, and arcs into the specified range of equal components. It
simply transfers correct measurements by adjusting the divider points.
5. Protractor - It is a semi-circular instrument divided into 180-degree equal components. It determines the gradations of the degrees in
calculating arcs, angles, and circles.
FRIDAY
Note: Present the objectives Knowledge, Skill, and Attitude.
11. Making generalizations Learning Objectives:
about the lesson
1. Identify hand tools and Equipment used in technical drafting,
2. Draw and write the function of hand tools and equipment in technical drafting,
3. Appreciate the value of knowing the different tools and equipment in technical drafting according to function and task requirement.
Directions: Answer the following questions. Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper.
1. Why are drafting materials and tools important?
2. What is the purpose of technical drafting?
3. Why is drafting equipment important?
