UTU3012 ENTREPRENEURSHIP

GROUP ASSIGNMENT

INTRODUCTION

The business idea presentation, business plan assignment, business practical and final presentation are
essentially the components required for UTU3012. Students are required to form a group consisting of
6 to 8 people. Your group is required to generate at least ONE (1) idea (product or service). Your
proposed business idea must be targeted at the consumer, and it must be feasible to be produced and
marketed. It is important that your product concept show how innovative it is in comparison to the
available alternatives and what value it can specifically provide to the target market.

Based on the business idea, each group is required to prepare THREE (3) assignments as below:

ASSIGNMENT 1: BUSINESS IDEA PRESENTATION (10%)

Your group is required to do a business idea presentation. A copy of presentation slides must be
submitted to the respective lecturer.

• Names of the competitors and their competing alternatives
• Proposed price of the product or service

ASSIGNMENT 2: BUSINESS PLAN REPORT (20%)

Business Plan is a document that reflects the business idea, the products or services, the management
team, the target market, the operation, the marketing strategies, and the financial projections. It acts as
a blueprint of what the entrepreneur is going to implement and as a document to source for financing.
The business plan must be realistic and convincing enough to convince potential investors. For this
assignment, students are required to prepare a business plan for a business idea that they have
presented/decided to do.
General Guideline

1. Please type the assignment on one side of the paper only, using Times New Roman font 12,
and 1.5 spaced on A4 paper.
2. Please ensure to follow the assignment format and use proper English
3. Please use appropriate citation and reference (if any) according to the American
Psychological Association (APA) Referencing System in order to avoid plagiarism.
4. Plagiarism and cheating will NOT be awarded any mark, and disciplinary actions will be
taken.
5. The cover of the assignment should include title, course code and name, lecture’s name,
students’ names, matric number, and submission date.

Each group needs to set up a real entrepreneurial business and its own structure. In the real
entrepreneurial business, each group must use social media platforms by utilizing Facebook (FB) or
Instagram (IG) page for marketing purposes. The group needs to address the content of:
