Hard Disk Drive A hard drive or hard disk
drive (HDD) is a type of data
storage device that is used in
laptops and desktop
computers. An HDD is a
“non-volatile” storage drive,
which means it can retain the
stored data even when no
power is supplied to the
device
Random Access Memory It acts as a temporary
storage location. It makes
it possible to read files
faster. RAM is utilized to
rapidly retrieve data, which
is required for reading any
file's contents and it
improves application
performance.
EXPANSION CARD An expansion card, or add-on
card, is used to provide
additional functionality to the
system or to upgrade an
existing function, such as
sound or video. For example,
an expansion card is a sound
card, network card
MOTHERBOARDC is the main internal hardware
component of the system
unit. This board is called the
“motherboard” because it has
all the connectors that
connect to the other hardware
components of the computer
system. This means that all
input and output (I/O)
devices have their connectors
on the motherboard.
CPU COOLER A component that draws heat
away from a CPU chip and
other hot-running chips
Central Processing Unit the primary component of a
computer that acts as its
“control center.” This is also
referred to as the “central” or
“main” processor or the brain
of a computer
Power Supply Unit is a hardware device that
converts AC electricity into
DC electricity and then
distributes it to the rest of the
computer
