Arcode Load Sensor Function User Manual V1.01
1. Overview
Arcode Load Sensor Function provides the controls like full load, overload, torque management with the help of a sensor
which is connected to IBC-S board.
With this function, depending on the type of sensor, the connection between sensor and the inspection box can be made directly
without any need of interconnect components. According to the size of the sensor’s signal, weight of the lift is specified and the
load is determined if it is full load or overload. Also if the “Pre-Torque Function (P1779)” parameter is set as “Weight Sensor
with Analogue-Voltage Output”, it can be used for improving the performance of the anti-rollback function.
2. Features
• It can work directly as connected to inspection box without the need of extra hardware.
• Different sensor types can be selected. The working principles of the sensor types are shown in appendix-1;
- WS1
• The usage is simple. The calibration can be made simply from the special menu in Arem.
• Instant load voltage and weight equivalent of voltage; also the ratio of instant weight to weight limitations can be
monitored over its own menu.
• It can be activated or deactivated on the parameter screen.
• If the “Pre-Torque Function (P1779)” parameter is set as “Weight Sensor with Analogue-Voltage Output”, it can be
used for improving the performance of the anti-rollback function.
3. Limitations
• Load sensor function is a paid software feature and requires a “Feature License Key” to be purchased from ARKEL to
be activated. Each purchased license key is specific to one Arcode device and can only be used on that device.
• This function can work only with the specified sensors and Arkel IBC-S board is needed, and it is not available with
other 3rd-party Arcode-compatible inspection boxes.
• The signal output of the selected sensor must be maximum 10 voltages. Otherwise inspection box damages.
4. Instalation Instructions
Note: Before starting the installation make sure the connection between the sensor and the inspection box was made.
• Enter your Arcode load sensor licence in the “Feature Licences (P1155)”, “Load Sensor Function Feature Licence Code
(P1251)” parameters.
• After entering the licence code, in the “Special Elevator Functions (P0607)” section, “Load Sensor Function (P1235)”
activates.
• Select the function as “Enabled (P1249)” in the menu.
• Select the sensor type in the “Sensor Type (P1250)” parameter;
- WS1
• Enter the “Full Load Limit (P1240)” and the “Overload Limit (P1241)” parameters.
• Enter the load sensor screen in the tools menu and select “Load Sensor Calibration”.

• Firstly; the screen which assuming the car is empty, becomes active. In this screen, empty the car and press “Enter”.
(Instant voltage can be monitored on this screen.). With this step, the empty car voltage of the lift is saved.
• With the second screen, the screen, where the voltage of a load with known weight will be recorded, becomes active.
On this screen, a load of known weight should be placed in the elevator car and then the load value should be entered
on the Arem screen. (Instant voltage can be monitored on the screen). Save the values by pressing “Enter”. After this
step, the function is ready to use.
• On the “Load Sensor Test” screen, the full load and overload limits can be
monitored. Orange Area: Full Load
Red Area: Over Load
