CODE OF DISCIPLINE
We at BSS believe that each student is provided with a safe environment where they are free to
learn. In order to sustain that environment, it is imperative to have a well-established criteria for
student discipline. Students need to know that they are held accountable for their actions. We
strive to keep students and their families informed about the policies and procedures that
promote a positive educational experience.
CODE OF DISCIPLINE FOR STUDENTS:
Pupils are expected to:
reach school on time. School gates for all students will close at 8:00 a.m sharp and open
at 2:00 p.m
develop and practice tolerance, respect, empathy, understanding and courtesy
use English language as a medium of communication within the school premises
complete all assigned work carefully and submit it timely / meet deadlines
know that obscene /abusive language will not be tolerated
groom and dress in accordance with the BSS uniform code
pay attention to their personal hygiene and get regular hair cuts
protect and take care of school’s property; as in case of damage, defacing or destruction
of any part of the building, fixture or equipment and writing or marking on walls,
students will pay compensation.
know that bullying, social and moral unacceptable speeches or gestures are offensive
know that deceiving parents or teachers by not showing documents, results or by
fabricating events/incidents is an intolerable act
understand that smoking or using drugs in the school premises will be considered crime
and will be dealt strictly
avoid ‘Fighting’ which refers to a verbal or physical combat (between two or more
individuals) that represents a safety issue or disruptive incident
display an exemplary behaviour in and outside school
not bring items such as electronic gadgets, mobile phones, playing cards, cigarettes,
vapes, chewing gums, large amounts of money, prohibited printed material or other
things inappropriate for school.
inform the school of their absence through application, written and signed by the parent,
stating the reason of absence immediately before or after the leave, especially during
assessment and exam sessions. The application should be brought in, the day the student
returns, if not, child will be marked ABSENT until the application comes in (Genuine
cases of continued absence will be dealt with individually by the School Head)
short leaves without prior intimation to the school office will not be entertained.
understand that missed assessments and tests will not be given any consideration if not
intimated timely and a valid reason is not given or no application is brought in by the
parent.
maintain at least 85% attendance in an academic year for promotion to the next class.
make the best of their educational opportunities. Misuse of computer, internet and
technology such as, installing software, shareware or freeware, deleting, altering,
transferring, damaging information or file is a 1isbehavior and liable to disciplinary
action

know that use of electronic devices e.g. mobile phones, cameras and other electronic
gadgets may result in disciplinary action. Once confiscated these gadgets will not be
returned to the student.
