Books Display
When first time any new students/users coming in the library that time they
are not aware about available collection of books in the library. The main
aim of Books display is the new user knows about collection of books
available in the library. SSR IMR library is arranging “Book display” every
year for new students in the library.
During the book display, library peon
keeps all the general and reference books
on the table at reading area in the library.
The new comer students spend one to
two hour with books and librarian
observe to all students, solve query to any
students regarding library or books. Due
to this service, students know about
books, take opportunity going near the books, increase reading habit and
love towards books.

E-Resources service
E-resource instruction is a very important session for new students coming
in the library. Because new students need help in learning how to search
information on internet. Many college libraries have subscribed online
journals database and spend more amount for the students but students are
not aware how to use this tools. That time this session is very helpful for the
students. SSR IMR library have own E-library and all PC are connected with
internet. At the time of orientation session, librarian talks about different
type e-resources collection available in the library. Librarian divides all the
students in 2-3 groups and to guide for find the specific information by
online at E-library. Librarian show search steps and strategies for searching
in the computer.

Library Best User Award:-


SSRIMR Library is giving Library Best User Award every year
at the time of second year student’s farewell celebration. This practice is
very helpful to attract more students to visit the library and use the
resources. The evaluation process is the data is collect by student’s library
visitor register maintained in the library and book issue record during the
year collect from the Library software. Based on this data and the
observations of the librarian, one student is declaring best user award. Every
year memento in the form of award is given to the best user.

Alumni Library Membership


SSRIMR Library started the book issue facility for the alumni
students from this year. The students who want to connect with the library
and interested in the library resources after the course completed, they take
the membership and enjoy the reading with their resources. The library takes
some amount under title of annual usage charges and deposit under banner
of “IMR Alumni Library Membership”. Alumni can issue one or two books
for the one month period. This service to help to the alumni for to satisfy
their thrust of knowledge and to help to college for building good relation
with college and industry.

General Best practices

 SSRIMR Library is arranging regular Library advisory committee


meeting in two time of every semester with staff and students
coordinator.
 SSR IMR library publishing library information in institute prospectus
and placement brochure in every year.
 SSR IMR library updated their users with new arrival books and new
issue of periodical through what’s app group and website.
 SSR IMR library is a member of National Library of India and
became member of all faculty and students.
 SSR IMR Library is preparing set hardcopy of university examination
question papers of every year and soft copy are uploading on website
also.
 SSR IMR library is taking the feedback from the students of two times
in year and try to know student’s opinion regarding the library.
 SSR IMR library is counseling the students who interest in the
competition examination and to providing regarding resources to the
students.
