1.3.7 Local Plug-ins Directory for Plug-ins


WinTAK 4.4 has changed the behavior of the local plug-in directory preference. Any WPKs stored
in this directory will now be imported automatically when WinTAK launches. The setting is
configured via the plug-in manager preferences screen (Figure 13).

1.4 Plug-in Enhancements


1.4.1 GRG Builder
The GRG Builder is a tool for creating GRG (KMZ) files using a snapshot of the WinTAK map
view, map items, and optional overlays such as snapshot information, map scale, compass and an
MGRS grid. WinTAK 4.4 GRG Builder includes multiple fixes and an updated workflow based
on user feedback. A toolbar was added to access frequently used functions from a single mouse
click (Figure 14).

Selecting the grid icon allows the user to select an existing Grid and change the location (Figure
15).

Clicking on the export button, opens a dialog box to specify where the exported KMZ file should
be saved. The default location is \users\USERNAME\Documents\WinTAK\Export.

Clicking on the point dropper icon opens the Point Dropper tool.

Clicking on the trash can icon allows the user to remove any map objects that they have placed
during the current editing session. (Figure 16)

Clicking on the cog wheel icon opens the GRG preferences page. The user can specify if newly
created GRGs should be imported automatically, use predefined spacing intervals and review the
user manual (Figure 17).

1.4.2 JumpMaster

The JumpMaster plug-in incorporates the following improvements for WinTAK 4.4:

• Landing patterns are now allowed to start at 2000 ft.

• The MS-360 canopy speed was updated to match the new ATAK value.

1.4.3 Mortar Spot Plot


WinTAK-Mil 4.4 now includes a Mortar Spot Plot tool. The Spot Plot tool is accessed from the
Fire Tools tab (Figure 18).

Selecting New Spot Plot creates a new mission. After selecting an existing hostile marker or
placing one on the map, the main Spot Plot window is displayed (Figure 19).

The user can then choose a Forward Observer and Gun from existing markers on the map or they
can place them. The user specifies the gun parameters and when all data is entered (Figure 20)
clicks on the shot icon.

Selecting the Add Impact Point button allows the user to enter correction data for the next shot
(Figure 21).

The user repeats the process until the mission is finished. When the tool is exited, the user has the
ability to save the mission history for later analysis. Saved missions are accessed by clicking on
the History Button (Figure 22)

Clicking on a Mission will bring up the shot history (Figure 23).

1.4.4 Reports – MISO


The Reports plug-in has been extended in WinTAK 4.4 with the addition of the MISO reports
category. When the Reports plug-in is opened, the MISO category is now available (Figure 24).

Selecting MISO displays the available MISO report templates (Figure 25).

Click on the desired report type and select a report template from the choices. The templates are
supplied in XML format and are based on the ATAK MISO report templates. Figures 26, 27, and
28 show the default templates.
