 Catchpit

a. Setting out for the location of the Catchpit according to the Works Order
drawing
b. Removal the top soil and soft spots
c. Excavate to formation according to the Standard drawing C2405/1-C2450/5.
d. Erection for formwork according to the Standard drawing C2405/1-C2450/5
and Works order drawing
e. Fixing the A252 mesh reinforcement according to the Standard drawing
C2405/1-C2450/5.
f. Concreting to catchpit.
g. Removal of formwork (12 hrs after concreting) and curing (at Least 4 days)
h. Installation of Steel Grating or precast concrete cover for the catchpit
according to the Standard drawing C2405/1-C2450/5 or installation of precast
concrete covers/ grating according to the Standard drawing C2406/1,
C2406/2A

 U-Channel

a. Setting out for the alignment of the U-Channel according to the Works Order
drawing
b. Removal the top soil and soft spots
c. Excavate to formation level according the Standard drawing C2409H,
C2410G.
d. Erection for formwork according to the Standard drawing C2409H, C2410G
and Works order drawing
e. Concreting to U-Channel.
f. Removal of formwork (12 hrs after concreting) and curing (at Least 4 days)
g. Installation of Cover slab and cast iron grating for u-channel according to the
Standard drawing C2412E.

 Stepped Channel

a. Setting out for the alinement of the Stepped Channel according to the Works
Order drawing
b. Removal the top soil and soft spots
c. Excavate the keys according to the Standard drawing C2411G.
d. Erection for formwork according to the Standard drawing C2411G and Works
order drawing
e. Concreting to Stepped Channel.
f. Removal of formwork (12 hrs after concreting) and curing (at Least 4 days)

e. Concreting/Shotcreting
a. Concrete trucks will be parked at the nearest accessible location. The fresh
concrete will be delivered manually by means of trolley or by concrete pump.
b. Fresh concrete will be compacted by means of vibratory poker.
c. Shotcreting method shall be adopted according the separated submitted
shotcreting method statement.

f. Method and procedures of curing concrete after concreting


a. Wet the concrete surface by water.
b. Cover the concrete surface by a plastic sheet or the like.
c. Check the condition of plastic sheet every day and add water to keep them
wet.
d. The concrete structure shall be cured at least 4 days.
g. Junction of U-channels and Step-channels
a. The junction of U-channels and Stepped channel should be following the
details according to the Standard drawing C2413D.
b. Expansion joints shall be provided at intervals of 10m Max.

h. Safety Measures
a. Workers shall wear safety harness and attach it to an independent lifeline
during working. Anchor points for lifeline shall be tested.
b. All workers shall wear appropriate PPE while carrying out the boulder
removal works.
