Associate Degree Program for BBA
Course Description:
The aim of this course is to familiarize the students with basic principles of finance and their
effect in business environment. This is a basic course of finance for BBA - 2 years program. The
main aim of this course is to prepare students to understand the language of finance, the corporate
objective and basic terminologies of Finance. The course begins by examining the different ways
in which companies can be structured and the differing types of ownership that exist . It provides a
foundation for understanding financial decision-making and valuation that you will need for
advanced finance classes and to contribute as finance professional. This course has been
developed to provide basic knowledge about the principle, concepts, and terminologies which are
planning, organizing, managing & controlling of financial resources. There are no pre-requisites
or co-requisites for this course

Course Learning Objectives (CLO)
The course learning Objectives (CLOs) are what you should be able to demonstrate by the end of
this course.
1. Understand the financial function of corporations, and financial regulations.
2. To understand the different financial tools for effective investment analysis
3. To analyze cash flows and different methods of firm valuation
4. To understand the financial concepts behind present value, future value, annuities,
perpetuities and loan amortization
5. Learn the techniques of stock valuation and prefered stock and be able to assess the
value and performance of bonds and cost of capital
6. To understand the concept of capital budgeting and capital structure.
7. To understand the concept of risk and return in greater detail
8. Conduct effective asset liability and liquidity management.
