a. Plenary sessions which includes 1) understanding stunting, 2)
Nutrition month 2023 talking points 3) Prevalence of nutritional
status of the community

OBJECTIVES a. To raise awareness among members of the community the impact
of stunting and create behavioral change among households that
can generate concrete solutions in prevention of stunting
b. To improve the nutritional status of children pregnant women or
any household with malnourished children, thus continuously
improved the prevalence of malnutrition among children
c. To ensure that preparation of food is nutritious and consistent with
the well balanced meal to address the needs of the children

bouts of infection during the first 1000 days of a child’s life.
The 49th Nutrition Month states that the National Nutrition Council, the
policy making and coordinating agency on nutrition, calls on everyone
to participate in the 49th Nutrition Month campaign. For this year, the
focus is on catalyzing actions to address child stunting. The theme
“Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable for All !” expresses the aspiration of
Filipino families to have children who are able to achieve their fullest
potential and this can be achieved when we all work together. It
becomes more imperative to ensure nutrition among Filipinos to
improve resilience against disease and minimize the long-term effects
of malnutrition. The Nutrition Month logo represents the goal of having
taller children and this is nurtured by proper care and nutrition with
focus on the first 1000 days.
TARGET Four mothers with malnourished children.Four mothers from other

Methodology Nutrimeal Competition consist of;
a. Selection and presentation of participants
b. Selection and presentation of major ingredients for the
nutrimeal competition,
c. Presentation of mechanics of judging and awards, judges
Mechanics for the a. Food Preparation (25%) pertains to participants able to follow the
Nutrimeal standards and set-standards by the competition. The cooking
Competition techniques and required ingredients are showcase having to
present proper and clean food preparation.
b. Presentation (25%) pertains to eye appeal, the first impression,
great taste with tantalizing, tempting and delicious touch on the
meal. A jazzy or catchy name can be given to the meal.
c. Cost Efficiency (25%) is a basic rule on the cooking nutrimeal
competition to “keep it simple”, staying away from overly
complicated or time consuming recipes. Concentration on the
unique way of mixing textures and flavours using common
ingredients, usually appealing and tasty for children and commonly
be adopted by other cooking moms or individuals in the community.
d. Complete Nutritional Composition (25%) a well balance meal is
very important in promotion of a healthy pinggang pinoy, a meal
with go, grow and glow foods are basic components in this category

2nd prize: 400 pesos worth of essential goods & groceries
3rd prize: 300 pesos worth of essential goods & groceries
4th prize: 200 pesos worth of essential goods & groceries
Tokens for 3 Judges: 200 pesos x 3 = 600 pesos
Total: 2,800 pesos
